Azul Sailing, Barcelona

Catamaran that we rented was not up to par. The company does not have enough employees to turnaround all the boats that come back on Saturday and hence you receive an under serviced boat. While checking in we clearly indicated 2 toilets did not function and one of the fridges did not seem to function. Team spent 10 minutes on the toilets and they said the fridge would cool down further as we got underway. We were supposed to depart at 15: 00 and could not leave till 18: 00 due to all the last minute cleaning and checks that captain had to do. Rented boat with clear indication we were 9 people, boat only had 8 fixed sleeping places and the parts to convert couch to bed were not on the boat for number 9 on first night we tried to get to sleep. Toilets got blocked during trip, power outlets did not function, tender needed to be inflated constantly, upon drawing curtains mold became visible, escape hatch on starboard side was leaking, life preservers came loose during heavy wind, fridge not functioning properly, stove only partially functioned, petrol gauge on one engine did not function, battery gauge did not function and radar not operational. We are not experienced sailors, but clearly this is not what you expect when you rent a catamaran. Confronted the manager of the boat (Joost) during trip and upon return. During trip we were told to take a day out of our short trip to bring boat in for repairs (which should have been done before departure) - upon checking there was no place available in the harbor to do the repairs. Upon return manager did not accept any responsibility and indicated that we should have checked all these things before departure and that it is basically our fault for renting a catamaran that was older, yet he is the one renting out…. Avoid this company and the boat Zippi! By the way Joost, before you respond and bring more excuses, please note I recorded our conversation and will be happy to share publicly as well!

Alquilamos el Anna Katherina para una semana de vacaciones. Para empezar deberían de haberlo entregado a las 15h y a las 17h el barco no estaba todavía preparado ni los depósitos de agua listos. Al final acabamos saliendo a las 19h de la tarde. Para volver no hicieron llegar a Barcelona un día antes para dormir en la base, cosa que nos quitó un día de disfrute en el destino. El barco tenía muchos defectos por falta de cuidados. La luz de fondeo no funcionaba, en uno de los camarotes entraba agua y no tenía cortinilla para el sol. La mayoría de las puertas de los camarotes no cerraban bien con lo que pegaban portazos continuamente. El camarote de proa estaba inundado. La mesa de la bañera estaba rota y la tuvimos que arreglar en medio del viaje. Una de las barandillas de proa también estaba suelta. Las baterías se descargaban continuamente y la única excusa fue decir que era nuestro deber ir a Puerto a cargar. Nos encontramos 2 cucarachas enormes rondando por la cocina y también nos dijeron que las habríamos entrado con las bolsas de comida (bolsas que venían directamente del Carrefour, al maletero del coche, al barco), uno de los tanques de agua lo llenaron de agua salada.
Joost la persona de contacto en el puerto fue bastante desagradable, tratandonos de ignorantes y con muy malas formas.
Os recomiendo que si vais a alquilar con esta empresa reviseis bien el barco porque con las finanzas se intentan aprovechar. Tened cuidado.

The experience was amazing. We were greeted with great care and comfort. When entering the boat we were offered a drink and our sailor (Oscar) was always up for a good talk and a good time. The hospitality, friendliness and overal great experience are something I would recommend to everyone - so if you ever find yourself not knowing what to do in Barcelona, go out and rent a trip from Azul sailing!

We rented a catamaran from Azul sailing and had a wonderful trip! We hired a captain and a cook and those were the best decisions for us on the trip. We didn’t have to worry about anything except relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We would definitely do it again! Oscar our captain was amazing! So kind and responsible with the boat! The food was great and us and our daughters had a wonderful experience. Just make sure you understand all costs up front and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Thank you Joost and team!

VERGONZOSO! QUE NO OS ENGAÑEN!

Estos últimos 15 días hemos estado en uno de los barcos de Azul Sailing (Blauw), en contacto directo con Joost Baggen (uno de los responsables de esta empresa).

A día de hoy, no puedo decir absolutamente NADA positivo sobre esta experiencia y el trato recibido tanto de la empresa como del responsable en cuestión. Además, nos hemos dado cuenta, al revisar las otras reviews de los clientes, que no hemos sido el único grupo que ha tenido problemas muy muy similares con esta empresa.

Coincidencia?

Se nos rompió el Genova nada mas sacarlo y nos acusaron desde el primer momento que fue culpa nuestra cuando claramente era por una falta de mantenimiento (tal y como indica en la factura de la Veleria que nos la arregló) perdiendo así, un día de nuestras vacaciones.

Además, se nos junto un problema de motor que tuvimos que arrastrar por varios días (más días perdidos de nuestras vacaciones, en concreto, 3 días parados en el puerto de Mahón)

Tanto Azul Sailing como nosotros no encontrábamos el problema y finalmente, después después de un cambio de bateria (pagando Azul Sailing el coste de la bateria y a posteriori, recargandonos a nosotros el coste de la misma cuándo fueron ellos los que decidieron cambiarla) y varias revisiones de 2 mecánicos en Menorca, la empresa se les ocurrió que alomejor el problema estaba en que el indicador de gasolina estaba roto y marcaba menos de lo que había (Joost se justificó diciendo que nos lo habia dicho al hacer el check in, es mentira. Ninguno de los 8 tripulantes éramos conscientes de ello).

Un indicador de gasolina roto y no se nos informa?

El colmo es cuando llegamos a Barcelona y Joost Baggen no nos quiere devolver la fianza, sin darnos ningún tipo de explicación (después de ser revisado por el propio Joost, de que el barco estaba en perfectas condiciones). Finalmente, después de 4 horas de negociación y malas palabras, nos devuelve el 75% de la misma y el 25% restante se lo queda sin darnos ningun tipo de explicación y nos cita al cabo de 2 días para disctuir algo que no tiene sentido para todos nosotros.

Podría decir muchas más cosas sobre el trato recibido de esta persona y de la empresa, pero me limitaré a decir que JAMÁS volveré a contratar los servicios de la misma, y os aconsejo a hacer lo mismo si no quereis pasar unos días horribles con un trato nefasto.

Tanto yo como mi grupo de amigos nos sentimos estafados por Azul Sailing y espero que algun día alguien se de cuenta de lo que están haciendo con sus clientes y les paren los pies.

Muy buen barco perfectamente equiado, no tuvimos ningun problema en toda la semana. Solo que no funcionava la helice de proa, pero todo lo demas perfecto. Buen trato de los responsables de Azul Sailing, repetiremos

In the last 15 years I have never had such a bad customer experience as the one I had with Azul Sailing. They gave us a ship with a broken sail (the Genoa) and when we came back they made us pay for half of it keeping part of our deposit. Furthermore, the attitude of the owner was really bad, I had the feeling he was really never willing to help us solving the problems of the ship but instead blaming us for everything and being very disrespectful.
In my opinion, they already know what they will charge you from the deposit before you have even given the deposit.
I would never recommend it to a good friend!

We had a great experience with Azul Sailing. Joost and Dani were most helpful upon checkin. We were pleasantly surprised with the thorough review of the boat at departure. It made us feel safe, which is important, as the boat was for a 1 week cruise with blue water sailing, and with children onboard. During the rental period, we have been constantly communicating with the Company and received prompt and quick replies even if we were not indicating any problem. Finally, the company was flexible on checkout, Joost was willing to accommodate our scheduling needs, and checkout review was also very thorough yet agile.
A very good idea to have an e-mail and whatsapp sent with detailed instructions for checkin and checkout and asking for a compilation of a list of any items that need repair after the trip (all sailboats need some kind of minor repairs after trips, even if it is because the normal wear and tear that they experience). We will repeat the rental with Azul Sailing and definitely recommend it.

When faced with the challenge of writing a review, as one relives past memories, it is not uncommon to, sadly, come across those that bear a negative perception of the whole experience; taking for granted those that left a positive imprint on us. A review should also not be written if aimed for revenge, hoping to hinder any further business or discard any possible client.
Bearing this in mind, the whole experience with Azul Sailing has been, objectively, really good. We were promptly attended when anything went amiss (an expected nuisance when faced with a long distance navigation trip) and the boat was handed to us on a pristine condition, as we were shown before we were handed over the keys.
Overall, the feeling of safety and comfort provided by the staff was splendid, which played an inmense role on the exclusiveness of the experience, because we sailed assured that, if anything was to go wrong, they would only be one call away, as proven during the months prior to this week. We were promised and we were given. I find no better motto to sum up seven days of intense sailing.

We had a great week on one of their sailing yachts. Their skipper Robin was fun to have aboard for a one-day instruction. Port Olympic in Barcelona isn't a nice place, so better book one of their boats in Badalona or Sitges

Incredible experience! Especially during pandemi period it was the best thing we did as a family. Safety is first and we felt we are in professional hands. We enjoyed a lot and Highly recommending Azul Sailing! Thank you

Sin duda una experiencia extraordinaria y para repetir. El barco estaba en muy buenas condiciones y el capitán fué muy profesional. Hicieron nuestra jornada muy agradable. Incluso nos bañamos en alta mar, en un entorno tan mágico como es la ciudad de Barcelona de fondo al atardecer.
