68 Was visiting Barcelona for the week and reached out to BCN to go diving over the weekend. Excellent time and dives! The staff were all welcoming, professional, and friendly!
4/5 stars only because my gender was assumed (I'm a girl with a gender-neutral/masculine name) and the first wetsuit they gave me couldn't zip over my chest. Was actually rather hysterical.
Una impresionante experiencia. Los instructores geniales, pacientes y profesionales. Recomendable al 100%
BCN diving gave me the most wonderful experience. Attention to every detail, I felt treated like royalty! From the responsive and detailed communication beforehand, to picking me up at my hotel, the boat trips, ensuring I had everything I needed to make this a memorable experience. Guido is an excellent guide, with his passion and knowledge of diving he explained everything and made this experience a wonderful restart to diving (havent dived in 9 years). One of the best vacation memories!
¡Excelente experiencia! El equipo de instructores muy profesional, 100% seguro y el buen rollo está asegurado desde el minuto uno. Especial mención al instructor Guido, ¡Gracias por tu orientación y apoyo en todo momento!
Last month I was on a trip to Spain with my wife and her parents where we spent the better part of our time in Barcelona. For our last day, my father-in-law and avid master scuba diver, Dr. Peter Kim, wanted to take a break from all the sightseeing, shopping and other land based activities to go on a diving excursion. He felt especially compelled having dived all across the world except the Mediterranean Sea, one of the last bodies of water on his bucket list. The problem was we were trying to make plans only the night before. I called several dive shops in Barcelona and BCN was one of the only places that responded and willing to accommodate. Albert, who took our request, was incredibly hospitable despite our last minute request and was kind enough to take my calls and texts late into the night to confirm details. We are forever grateful to him to make the dive trip possible! And the dive was absolutely amazing! The very next morning we were off to Costa Brava to dive off a small town called Palamos. BCN took care of all the transport and equipment – we just went along for the fun. We were able to do two dives that day. Visibility was great and the marine life was spectacular. We say many octopus, small fish and even a couple of large rays. My father-in-law is an avid underwater photographer but having not planned on diving he did not bring any of his equipment. To top it all off, Albert was gracious enough to let him borrow his camera so that he could take his own pictures of this unforgettable experience. We are truly grateful to Albert who was so knowledgeable and all around a great guide and to the entire BCN Diving crew. You guys are the best! Highly recommend! Even if you only have half a day in Barcelona, if you want to do something truly unique and amazing give BCN Diving a call (hopefully more than a night in advance).
Had the luxury to be the only participant on a fundive booked here. Guido, the guide, was super nice and helpful and gave me a lot of tips and really took the time so I understood everything and answered my questions wich was great for me since I'm a bit unexperienced. The divesight in tossa del mar was beautiful and just 1h drive from Barcelona. Had a great day, can really recomend!
The team of dive guides at BCN consists of a bunch of nice guys who work together effectively and all gave me the impression of being really engaged in their jobs, striving to give their customers a good experience. Kim, with whom I had two dives, is not a very experienced guide yet, but he’ll get there. He did a decent job, with some discreet feedback from his more experienced colleagues - again, kudos for the teamwork! The equipment was in good shape and there were spare suits and boots available at the dive site to adjust for suboptimal size estimates. The dive sites in Lloret de Mar had some nice geology and abundance of smaller fish and algae, but no “big game” on that day due to unusually strong currents. The boat was a large RIB with a skilled captain, also with him the teamwork appeared very smooth. Biggest minus: The promised snack did not make it to the dive site, so next time I’ll bring a backup ration.
I completed a referall OWD course at BCN Diving with Guido, who is a great guy. I had done the theory and pool practice dives somewhere else, but this was no issue. Guido professionally assessed my skills first in shallow water, and at no point I had any concerns regarding safety or trust. The dives themselves were fascinating with a variety of fish to be seen, with Guido pointing out hidden ones I otherwise would have missed (we also saw squid eggs in a small cave). Aside from the dives Guido also had plenty of recommendations for sightseing and restaurants in and around Barcelona, and was really easy to talk to.
