BIG BANG BAR, Barcelona

Loved it, loved it, loved it, resembling somewhat the 'Ain't Nothing But The Blues Bar' in London, I'd been thinking about going for the past few weeks but didn't quite have the gall. Anyhoo, had a few glasses of cava and said to myself GO! It's a generic running order, house band with coordinator up first then others accordingly (put your name on a list on the piano). Live musicians are gagging to play so there's always going to be a crowd, the only thing I would say is that there are 'favourites ' it always happens, some people just can't help hogging the stage. I think two three songs maximum and that goes for guitarists too, one sound becomes tedious! We're all chomping at the bit to play, let's give everyone a chance! I managed to get two songs in early doors and met some lovely people, home from home for me. Now, I love this area but it may not be everyones cup of tea, however if you want a bit of authenticy away from the centre, this is the place to hang out.

Me encantaron los músicos y el bar es agradable pero el chico de la barra es lo peor que pude haber encontrado en barcelona. Nos ha tratado con desprecio, malas formas y se notaba que estaba deseoso de que nos fuésemos. Deberían cambiar de personal, porque gracias a él el local ha perdido a unos futuros clientes.

Si quieres sentirte rodeado de decoración bohemia, de músicos y gente que ama el jazz y la música en directo, este es tu sitio para tomar algo por la zona del Raval.

No se trata de un lugar muy grande, pero el espacio está bien aprovechado. Buen servicio, precios más que correctos y muy buen ambiente

This is a little jewel for musicians of all kinds and for people who enjoy life music. Marc Daniels is a great host for Open Mics and everybody gets a chance to share what each of us do. Moreover, the price of the entrance is affordable, as they only request €5 and they are spendable on drinks of your choice.
Only drawback, it's always full (according to current regulations), so you need to get there early if you wanna have room inside.
