European Museum of Modern Art, Barcelona

Well, to start with a preview on the definition of modern art, as the main objective of Modern art was to set aside the traditions of the past and put more emphasis on experimentation with a new perspective of seeing the world. People often get confused with the word ‘modern’, as a term to describe something new and fashionable, but rather it refers to the artworks produced during 1860-1920s. From this perspective, this place offers a handful of striking and a very well curated collection of paintings mostly by Spanish artists. It has a collection around lbgt which is very impressive. The museum is located in a nice neighborhood and those alleys are so beautiful. Also a few museums such as picassso, hemon etc.just around the sane area. Good luck!

I went with my daughter on the night of the free museums in Barcelona, the 18th of May 2019. It was interesting, most of the art exposed there makes you think about the message behind, it's mainly not disturbing, so the feeling you get to see most of the art it's good and makes you open more minded. I would go back. The building were is exposed its stunning to me, has a lot of character, like most of the old buildings in Barcelona. Higg ceilings, and the atmosphere is nice. Friendly staff working there too on the night.

Me encanta y los viernes de noche tienen música en vivo, blues y otros en un ambiente muy especial. Lo recomiendo muchísimo

The art collection here was dramatic, visually striking, and thought provoking. Our entire family enjoyed the dept of emotions and the emotional views of live depicted in the works here.

If you have a hang up over nudity then you will struggle. But if you want to glympse the human condition via talented sculptors and painters the I highly recommend visiting here

Un museo con una concepción del arte moderno que me impresionó y con la que me sentí muy identificado: la necesidad de crear un estilo acorde a nuestra época, más allá de vivir del pasado y de refritos de movimientos que en su día fueron impactantes y novedosos. El museo trabaja en esa línea, y pudimos ver obras muy interesantes de autores contemporáneos jóvenes o más experimentados. Tiene exposiciones permanentes y temporales, y en la planta baja puedes disfrutar de una pequeña terraza que es como un oasis y un remanso de paz en medio de la ciudad. El edificio me pareció un lugar mágico, con un estética cuidada y muy personal.

Kind of small and not included in the Art ticket but cool exhibitions and not as crowded as the other museums.

Un museo excelente, especialmente si te gusta el arte figurativo. Además, cada dos años alojan una exposición con los mejores trabajos del Artículo Renewal Center que son una verdadera delicia.

Hay exposiciones que la información de la obra está únicamente en inglés, lo cual no me parece correcto.
El precio de la entrada es abusivo.
El arte y su comprensión ha de estar al alcance de todos.

I found this place by surprise out of the Picasso Museum. Not really knowing what to expect I went in and found out beautiful piece of contemporary art.
A first glance, you might think you're looking at pictures but these are definitely paintings.
The museum is medium sized but it's definitely worth seeing. On top of that, since only a few people are visiting it, you'll have all the time you want to admire each of portraits.
I highly recommend going there when in Barcelona!

Good nice time museum. But what really worth visiting - classic music nights. Cost around 15euros, you’ll get free entrance to museum, live music and snacks.

Es un Museo que me gusta visitar por sus exposiciones. Para los interesados en Arte figurativo este museo debe estar en su recorrido. Un buen lugar para disfrutar del Arte!

Me ha encantado el Museo en sí, las obras expuestas de arte contemporáneo. Increíble como rozan la realidad.
El concierto de música clásica me gusto mucho aunque dudara porque no soy muy aficionada a este género.
La merienda quizas justita. No teníamos opción a tomar refescos o alguna copa de cava. Solo cafe o te.
Pero en un conjunto lo aconsejo, lo pasamos muy bien.
