Albergue Generator Barcelona opiniones
That was an amazing experience. The individual rooms are always clean and very spacious. I think the price is very fair to the kind of accommodation they offer. The staff is very friendly as well!
Reasonably priced in a great location, all the sites are easily accessible. Helpful staff and comfortable beds. Felt very safe and at ease as a solo traveller. Highly recommend.
Not bad however I liked the Generator Madrid better. Shame there is no kitchen and the price is so high. I will try out some other hostels is Barcelona to compare it.
Overall good place and helpful people, but two things brought it from 5 stars to 2.1. Some of the bedding showed signs of not being clean. 2. They charged us extra to (10 Euros) to replace our towels after we’d been there four days.
On the positive, you can meet plenty of other travellers, and the front desk can provide you with any info you need about the city.
Hostel room was pretty untidy and not clean at all. As a result I had to upgrade away from there for an extra €70 for the two nights.
Although I upgraded to a double room, the bed consisted of two singles pushed together. The bed sheets were single so there was a huge gap between the two beds that you would fall through.
After making a polite complaint about this I was offered a free upgrade to a slightly smaller room. This one had an actual double bed and an amazing balcony.
The staff were very friendly which is why I am recommending three stars. Otherwise it could have easily have been 1 star.
Also I’d recommend staff remind guests in the hostel that you need a padlock and that you must pay extra for a towel - €5 that I eventually didn’t need because the hotel room came with towels.
Both of my phones DID not stay connected to the WiFi service. The computer had no problems. Otherwise, a nice inexpensive stay relatively close to the city centre.
I really liked this place. The hostel is enormous, probably 8 floors+very cool terrace with a view on the city (must visit). It’s not far away from the city centre so you can easily go wherever you want. Sagrada Familia is about 1 kilometer away. Working staff is really friendly and nice. Eating there is a bit expensive so I recommend to go to places that are nearby like taco place or vegan hotdogs. The design is modern and clean, beds are comfortable, but if you live in a room with 8 people and you stay on the upper bed, the ceiling is not so tall, so you should be careful. If you want to put your belongings in a safe place, there are shelves, but you you need to have a locker. They sell it and you cannot return it, (for the time of writing this review the locker costed €5). Considering bad quality I think it’s quite expensive. But overall I recommend everyone to live here, the atmosphere is good, and price/quality is also good.
This review is ONLY based on room with NO balcony.specifically room 615.
Overall the hotel has an interesting concept. Location is not too bad. Supermarket across the road. Excellent cafe round the corners. 10 mins walk bring you the the main luxury shopping street.
Reason why I won't recommend to get the room with no balcony is, firstly, the room is small if you have 2 large size luggage. No Tv (if you are those that watch TV before you sleep or prefer some noisy in the room while you do other things). The toilet size is decent but ONLY the showering corner is so small that even my petite wife struggle to shower without hitting the walls. The water pressure is weak. No racks or space to place your shampoos and soap. The room has a window but I do not recommend you to leave it open (view the photo and you might or might not agree with me)
This hotel is a mixture of hotel/hostel. So do lower your expectation if you do choose to stay in this hotel, or at the very least, choose the room with balcony.
Do note if you arrive at the hotel early. They do not help to keep your luggage. They do have a storage cabins where you have to pay for storage (look at photos for prices)
The Generator Hostel was probably one of the best hostel's I have ever stayed in my entire life! The lobby, and reception area is spacious with friendly staff. The floor above the reception area, there is a lounge for all guests, and has a wide range of space where you are able to work or sit down for a cup of coffee.
The room itself is sleepable. Some rooms are fitted with 6 beds while others have 8. The beds were single sized, even for a 5'10" man (178cm), and there was well enough space to put your clothes and personal items.
As we make our way to the bathroom, there are two small rooms, one for the toilet and the other for the shower. I had no problem with the shower, but my door lock for the toilet was broken.
Overall, if you are planning to stay here for one or two nights, I think that it is totally doable. If you are planning to stay for a longer time, I recommend looking for an airbnb or another alternate hostel or hotel.
Lovely place and thr stuff is awesome.the rooms are quite clean and the hostel has 5 floors with funny names.there is a bar and a good restaurant in there and you will feel welcomed anytime you god to that awesome hostel.the prices are very cheap compared to other hostels and the hotel lies just around the corner of Casa Mila and Casa Batlió
Stayed in es twin room, a two bed room, with its own little shower, this part is Like a hotel, and feels totally like a hotel and not a bad one. Beds are clean, got no allergic reaction what so ever. The furniture, and lighting ist nice, and makes the room comfy. Shower is the only little pain point, the silicone seams were a bit old and hot dark spots, but nothing serious, can be overlooked but don't expect a 4* hotel room. As a relatively cheap stay for visiting Barcelona it was a grate choice.
