Harlem Jazz Club, Barcelona

Este lugar es realmente dependiente del evento. Presentan una amplia variedad de bandas y artistas realmente buenos, pero tiende a atraer a más turistas que otros lugares. El ambiente general tampoco es nada del otro mundo. Lo suficientemente bueno como para ver una banda que te interesa pero que no iría de otra manera.

Incluso si alguien como yo no es fanático del jazz: excelente música en vivo con músicos reales, buen rollo contagioso, precios moderados, gente amable y abierto durante mucho tiempo. Fue un placer.

Went there to see Chino and the big bet, the show was epic, great mood and world class musicians. Cozy spot really worth it.

The three of us came for "Blues/early Jazz jam night" on Tuesday, as listed on their website. We paid €8 each to enter the jam session and all bought drinks. My friend went to sign up to sing and the house guitarist told him the house band doesn't know any jazz. My friend suggested many options of songs they may know or he could adapt to but the guitarist (with Billy Holly tinted glasses) said it's a blues jam and it's not his problem. When my friend explained that he's in a place called Harlem Jazz Club and the website says blues and jazz jam the guitarist finally let him sing.dead last, after dozens of randos with harmonicas had their moment in the sun. The guitarist called my friend up in a patronizing way, saying, "Now we have a singer. " and then promptly confiscated the microphone and made my friend sing without a mic. Apparently the house band figured out one jazz song they knew. My friend brought the house down and people were shouting for an encore, but of course the guitarist announced that the jam was over and packed up all the equipment. The place was full of tourists so I wouldn't return anyway, but the disrespect by the guitarist, the lack of musical knowledge by the band, and the misinformation on the website only adds to my bad review.

Que explicar del harlem, tot un referent de la musica en viu a bcn, aqui trobareu bones actuacions de petit format, passant pel son cubà al jazz I molt mes, no defraudara a ningu.

We have been to Harlem Jazz club a couple times during our trip to Barcelona. Music there is nice but the place is overcrowded, so you better come earlier.

Had an absolutely fantastic night here. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was incredible. Reasonably priced, and the live act we saw was superb. Really engaged and interacted with the crowd and very talented.

Went here on a Tuesday night when visiting Barcelona. We paid 8 Euros for entry and the only seats left were at the bar with limited view of the stage. The bartender was slow and rude. She seemed to be much more friendly to the locals that were sitting at the bar. When I asked for the WiFi password she pointed to the wall and said it’s right there. That password didn’t even work but I was too afraid to ask her again. I do not recommend spending time or money at this place.

El local está bien ubicado aunque no muy grande. Tiene mesas para disfrutar de los conciertos en directo, aunque no para bailar. Bebida a precio normal (Voll-Damm 4,5€ - Copa entre 8-10€). Recomendado para pasar un buen rato.

El local es bonito, los músicos son fantásticos! Tanto los que suelen tocar allí como los participantes en la Jam session, si no fuera por la encargada del local. Actualmente, muchas personas evitan este lugar sólo y únicamente por evitar su mala leche gratuita. Es inaudito que esté de cara al público.

Initially I would like to say thanks for atmosphere in this club. That was absolutely fantastic with great musicians and spirit, service also good, well done Guys!

The atmosphere is like the old american underground jazz bars, good music and good cocktails. Nice place to spend an evening listening to some good music.

It was our first choice in Barcelona for a live music and we want to turn back. The bar is offering new band every evening.but every of them is unique and great mysicians band! Never regret! Music forever!

This bar use to be a great place to have a drink and to listen nice music. Now a days since the new host (dominican/cuban short blond hair girl) took the bar it becomes a truly waste of time. She is not friendly at all and for sure she has not even a little sense of what customer service means. Dissapointing place and overrated bar. Never ever again!

Este local fue hace algunos años un excelente local para tomar una copa y escuchar musica diferente. Ahora desde que el bar lo lleva una señora desagradable (Es Dominicana o Cubana y tiene el pelo corto tinturado a rubio) el local a perdido toda su fantasia y no merece la pena perder el tiempo alli. Ella es una persona hostil, antipatica que no tiene la mas minima idea de lo que es el respeto y el buen trato al cliente. Totalmente decepcionado en mi ultima visita. El bar esta evidentemente sobrevalorado. Nunca mas!

My favorite old-style live music venue in Barcelona in which I not only got to enjoy a very talented Cuban band, but where a world-class blues harp and guitar player duo performed one winter’s night, much to my delight!

Service was shocking! Walked in with my girlfriend went straight to the bar we must have been walked past 5/6 times before I called the bartender (the short blonde haired lady) to serve us to which she replied wait there, we must of waited 7 minutes and we was the only ones at the bar. She then told us we needed a ticket before we were served and that the band didn’t start until 10: 30. Was really looking forward to this but was left very disappointed!

I attended a Cuban Jazz night here. While the music and atmosphere was great, I would suggest that the management better prepare the space for cover charge music events and dancing. The bar had not transitioned from dinner hours, and front of the stage to the bar was full of small tables and chairs that kept us from getting close to the stage, dancing, and really getting into the music. I highly suggest removing tables/chairs, or at least moving them to the side, so that people can utilize the space to dance. For a 10euro cover I would expect some event facilitation. The music was great though, definitely worth checking out!
