Els migdies dels caps de setmana tenen uns "menús"de vermuts molt bons i molt recomanables tambépots prendre qualsevol altra cosa. Miris on miris hi ha molt bones vistes del Baix Penedès, un indret molt pintoresc envoltat de natura i de vinyes i caminets. La gent que hi treballa t'atenen molt bé.

Avui hi hem anat a fer el vermut. Un lloc amb encant. Val molt la pena arribar-s'hi: pel lloc, per les vistes, per l'ambient, el tracte. Ideal!

Recommend as a destination and a place to stop and take a vermut or lunch if you're in the area. Quality food and fantastic people. Pretty good views as well.

Ens ha encantat! És un lloc totalment tranquil, entre vinyes. Perfecte per desconectar del dia a dia un cap de setmana. Te una piscina molt tranquil•la i acollidora. El sopar i l’esmorzar son espectaculars, tot natural i del seu propi hort. Tots els membres del personal han estat encantadors i molt atents amb nosaltres, un tracte molt proper. Recomanadíssim! Nosaltres pensem tornar-hi cap a l’hivern.

Trato exquisito, familiar, humano y flexible con persona con minusvalía. Lugar supertranquilo para por ejemplo huir de las verbenas solos o con nuestras mascotas y con vistas a la comarca y su suave descenso hasta el Mediterraneo que puede verse sin problemas. Desayunos contundentes y caseros y cenas de alta cocina. Totalmente recomendable por todo lo expuesto y por mas cosas.

Entorn espectacular. La casa molt maca, amb objectes antics. El personal encantador. Tracte molt proper. El menjar espectacular, sobretot els canalons de bolets amb salsa xató. El vi blanc de producció pròpia és molt bo. Ideal per fer una escapada i desconnectar.

Most wonderful place to stay in the Penedes region. Very friendly owners and staff and super dog friendly. We love going back, whenever we are in the area. Amazing local cuisine and wine.

I never write reviews for anything but feel compelled to share our excellent restaurant experience at the Hotel Castell de Gimenelles. We have lived in Barcelona for a year and have eaten in quite a few restaurants. We had friends over from the Uk and wanted to eat somewhere authentic and good! After looking for somewhere in a good location, amongst the vineyards, we booked an evening meal at Hotel Castell de Gimenelles. This was probably the best experience we have had here in Spain.

From start to finish everything was first class. Booking over the phone was even pleasant! When explaining that we wanted to try to local food, we were recommenced the degustation menu (€32 per person including wine and bottled water). There were 7 courses; simple homemade bread with salt and oil, a beautiful fresh tomato and anchovy salad (produce from their garden), carpaccio of cod with a mustard sauce, melt in the mouth mushroom cannelloni, baked cod with rice in a subtle sauce, Iberian pork with potatoe in a salty sweat sauce, lemon ice-cream laced with locally made pear liquor. To drink we chose local wine from the surrounding vineyards.

The service was lovely with our delightful waitress patiently listening to our Spanish and filling in the gaps with great English. She explained every dish to us on serving. The whole meal took nearly 3 hours as we were served at a perfect pace to ensure we enjoyed every course.

The location is beautiful and feels so authentically Catalan. We chose to eat inside in our own private room but the outside tables looked really pretty too. We will be back without doubt and will recommend friends to stay there for a weekend break as the local countryside would be perfect for some walking or vine tasting visits.

Una masia condicionada amb totes les comoditats. Cuina excel·lent amb productes de la terra. Servei i atenció immillorables.

Ideal per desconectar de la rutina diària. Bon menjar, tranquil·litat, natura en estat pur, tracte proper.

Matured. Elegant and tasteful as well as distended and cozy. A rainy day of January, we left by car from Gimenelles, driving through leafless dark vines, crawling up from the earthy red wet ground, under the gray sky. This landscape would be gloomy if it where not by the warm and sort of poetic stay we had at Gimenelles.

Still remembering the dinner. Traditional, and not disappointing if you are looking for a classic catalan rural meal, for sure, but still elegant, delicated. A perfect example is Jordi's romesco, a catalan sauce that, if tasty, has a lot of garlic. Jordi's HAS garlic, it's spicy and tasty, but somehow light at the same time. It doesn't dominate the dish and it doesn't haunt you at 3am. If you want to know the trick, just ask the cheff, he will answer you with a friendly and relaxed conversation.

Before the dream fades out, we let a nostalgic peace fill the car as we leave the pictorial Penedès in winter.
