Situation centrale, à 10 minutes à pied du quartier historique.
Les autres hôtels de la chaîne "Catalonia" situés près de la Cathédrale et du quartier Gothique sont peut-être mieux.

Le décor de l'hôtel et le confort des chambres sont vieillissants, sans charme.

Petit-déjeuner généreux.

Attention au parking, très coûteux, malgré un tarif négocié avec l'hôtel.

Rien de super négatif, mais je ne recommande pas cet hôtel.

A disappointing experience overall.
Mainly because our souvenirs disappeared from the room (after cleaning was done on the last day of our stay) and the staff and, more important, management reaction was not helpful in any way.
It was a first time for us when such an event happened, and this was our 6th visit to Barcelona, and second stay at a Catalonia chain hotel.
Hotel was opened just before the period we stayed (May 19th) and because not many rooms were booked, the staff number was really low - for example, the receptionist was also serving coffee and handling part of the breakfast services.
Double rooms with terrace are ok, but not very big, bed is comfortable. Terraces are also not too spacious. Everything was clean (one year+ of pause due to Covid probably helped).
Hotel position is great, rooms were quiet enough. Hotel lobby also looks nice and everything smells wonderful.
But the low quality service and the fact that there is a chance something might be stolen from the room, makes everything not worth the money and time.
Surveillance cameras are not in the hotel corridors, so nobody was held accountable for our missing property.
There are far better places to stay in the area.

El trato del personal hace que estés como en casa, mención especial para Camilo! La ubicación es perfecta para visitar Barcelona. Pasamos unos días estupendos, muy tranquilo para lo bien situado que está.

Parfait! Hôtel très bien situé, chambre spacieuse, lieu historique et magnifique. Il vaut largement un 4 étoiles. Tarif parking prohibitif mais on est à Barcelone! Personnel très aimable, et la piscine derrière est un vrai havre de paix

Hotel con ubicación estupenda y decoración elegante. Buen buffet de desayuno (cuando lo visité todavía lo tenían). Si tiene alguna pega, es el precio que cobran para ser un hotel 3 estrellas, eso sí, he estado en hoteles con alguna estrella más, peores que este.

Siempre nos sentimos como en casa cuando llegamos al Catalonia Portal de l'Àngel. El edificio es precioso, y las habitaciones impecables, además de tener la ubicación perfecta. Pero lo mejor de este hotel es el servicio y el personal. Tanto la Dirección como todo el equipo, siempre son amables, atentos, serviciales y encantadores. Con una implicación absoluta y una orientación excepcional al cliente, con carácter de cercanía y con extremada educación. El trato es excelente, y continuará siendo nuestro hotel de referencia en Barcelona.

Precioso hotel ubicado en el corazón de Barcelona. Trato exquisito. Habitación muy limpia, grande, con una decoración elegante. Volveremos sin duda!

My plan was to stay there 1 night but ended adding more nights everyday because I really loved the place. The rooms are beautifully furnished and you have everything you need.
Above all I would like to thank all the receptionists that were working from 16th of October 2020 the whole week.
They are very polite, service oriented and friendly. They made me feel at home.
Definitely recommend it.

Las habitaciones son bonitas, fue un muy buen precio por la zona y las instalaciones. Además te hacen descuentos en otras estancias.

Hotel con encanto, en edificio histórico y muy bien ubicado. Las habitaciones son modernas y muy acogedoras. El resto de servicios del hotel también sobresalen.

After leaving our first hotel because it was dirty, we found this place around the corner - and boy were we happy about it. Very friendly staff, a clean and quiet room, and a great location make this 3 star hotel a hidden gem in Barcelona! Easily could have 4 stars in my opinion (based on our room).

Note: book through their website! It is always cheaper than through other websites. The staff was even kind enough to make us aware of that while we were standing at the reception so we saved an additional 7% on our stay.

My trip to this hotel was wonderful! Firstly, it is very centrally located so it’s close to many nearby shops. It’s particularly close to shops such as Desigual, H&M, and others. If you are coming from the airport, just take the aero bus and it’ll drop you off right at the square. Secondly, the staff were very nice and friendly. They helped us find our way around. Thirdly, the rooms itself were quite nice! It’s the same as the pictures in the website. Although there is no air-conditioning and only a heater so you have to open your windows. Also don’t forget to press the buzzer to the door before you enter the hotel so that they can open the sliding doors for you. Overall, 5/5 stars and wonderful experience here:)

Très bien situé, mais dommage -1 pour la chambre sur un puit de lumière. Les chambre sont très propres, personnels agréables et sympa Petit déjeuner d enfer (NB: a la direction, cela veut dire que le petit déjeuner était grandiose) )

Pros:
- Great location
- Comfortable bed
- Helpful staff
- Working bathroom

Cons:
- No windows (later learned you can pay more to get windows?)
- Lot's of wear and tear in the room, desk and bed with lots of wood dings
- AC was on and struggling for 100% of our visit. Working non-stop 24/7.

Excelente ubicación, a una cuadra de Plaza Cataluña, a dos cuadras de la Rambla y a pasos del Barrio Gotico, sobre la peatonal Portal del Ángel. Rodeado de las tiendas más importantes. Habitaciones cómodas y limpias. Óptima atención del personal y muy buen desayuno. Altamente recomendable, sin dudarlo. Si vuelvo a Barcelona alguna vez me alojare aqui.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this hotel. I made a reservation through Expedia for a 4 day stay for my father who was coming to visit. He had issues with his flight and was unable to check in the first nite. To make sure that everything was OK, I personally went to the hotel to let them know that he will not be coming that nite and that he would be coming the next day. I also paid the tax for all 4 nites at the same time. I was assured that there will be no problem and he even got assigned a room. As he came to check in the next day, his reservation was canceled and he was reassigned to another hotel. I was told that the manager Natalia made this call and that it was a common practice since he did not check in (they did not honor their commitment the previous day as they were now overbooked). Keep in mind I had pre-paid in full. I was told that he should be happy as he was being placed in a better hotel. However, what the staff failed to notice is that I was looking for a frictionless customer experience and really did not want a better hotel. I wanted him to have no issues checking in for the hotel that I booked. Nothing I said really made any difference to them. I was told that I can either walk away or take the option that they are giving me. Super disappointing experience and would not recommend.
