Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona

This was an ELITE hotel stay, I thoroughly enjoyed it and have found a new home in Barcelona. The staff are just simply other worldly: Special thank you to Fernando and Aleberto from Bell, Elena and Laia from Front Office, Carmen, Patricia, Andrea and Daniela from the spa, Palbo, Luigi, Paula and Jo An from Blanc, Mayte from Concierge, and all the very lovely Housekeeping attendants.

Great experience. Stayed two nights and enjoyed it. Clean, great reception service with free upgrade options such as free breakfast and many others. Nobuko is a great assistant from reception team.

We wanted to come back to Barcelona where we got engaged, to celebrate our 20 anniversary. We were so happy with the quietly understated and elegant hotel and welcome. For us, just right! The hotel staff were, as expected - wonderful, but helpful and attentive in just the right measure. The facilities were great: the room was laid out in a slightly offset way, which when you thought about it was actually very cool; the roof top is a gem, with just the right number of people for the times, to give a fun but safe atmosphere.
For what we wanted, M. O. BCN = Just, right!

Visitado el restaurante Blanc a cargo de Carme Ruscalleda. Un espacio casi mágico (nunca lo había visitado de noche) y una oferta de menú por 35 euros (sin vino) no muy variado pero rico y genialmente presentado

Une expérience superbe, la vue depuis le bar en terrasse sur tout Barcelone est magnifique.
Le prix des conso est en conséquence. On évitera d'y prendre une chambre ici, mon banquier a mis son véto.

Attention à bien demander la facture en partant, ils n’hésiteront pas à vous débiter la caution même si ils devaient la rendre entièrement, impossible d’avoir la facture envoyé par mail même après plusieurs appel en 30 jours. Très loin d’un service de 5*

Fuimos a la terraza del Mandarín y fabuloso, no le doy 5 estrellas ya que pensaba que sería más grande el sitio, primero van los del hotel y si no tienes suerte no subes. Es un sitio ideal si buscas tranquilidad.

Excelente hotel yo voy por motivos laborales y siempre me tratan muy bien como si fuera un cliente personal muy atentos siempre dispuestos a ayudarte

Fuimos a tomar un cocktail al bankers bar. Estábamos solos hasta que apareció un gerente, ya había estado con anterioridad, pero esta vez fue un desastre, no había cocktelero, no sabían hacer cocktails, al final pedimos dos cocktails que subieron del restaurante creo, estaban aguados y en otras ocasiones solían poner algo de picar, (frutos secos con wasabi) esta vez nada, decepción, no volveré.

The MO Barcelona is just superb. While the entrance is not as grand as other 5 star hotels and the lobby itself quite a let down frankly, the smell in the house, the helpfulness of the staff, the great style of the well-appointed rooms and bathrooms and the awesome breakfast well compensate for the discreet entrance on Paseig de Gracia.

The service throughout and everywhere in the property (maybe with the exception of Terrat, the bar upstairs) is flawless, caring and quick.

The room is not huge (it is Europe) but well appointed enough that we never felt on top of each other. Bathroom was awesome (except the vent in the restroom was struggling to work) with great water pressure and awesome roomy shower.

We tried massages at the spa, which was good too, not exceptional but good, meeting expectations. The pool is on the very small side and claustrophobic. Bit of a let down.

The only bad experience was the Terrat bar upstairs, which allows cigar smokers (not only cigarettes as expected for an outdoor space, but also cigars) and the advertised dipping pool which is no more than an ornamental water basin for decoration. I factored in that bar terrace upstairs with the wrongly advertised dipping pool as a big plus when choosing MO but it was a disappointment. Nobody in their right mind would enter (you cannot “enter” it anyway, but walk in or on) or put their feet in this.

Now a strong advice for anyone staying there, ask for the complete tour of the facilities when checking in or know in advance that there are 3 bars in the hotel (I unfortunately only discovered this after my stay, as the lazy front desk staff who I thought was very friendly and caring did not bother mentioning it nor showing them to us during the tour) : Terrat as mentioned above on top of the hotel, a Banks bar and a Mimosa Garden. I would have loved experiencing them but unfortunately did not know about it. I would definitely recommend MO though and probably be back.in winter (because I’d love to try a rooftop pool in spring / summer)

Sembla que sinó fas el menú degustació l'espera és eterna doncs no vaig veure ningú pensa que anaven tard amb nosaltres.

3.5 hores per dos plats i un postre. 30 minuts per la carta i 30 més pel primer plat (amb dos petites degustacions a partir del minut 40). Entre plat i plat esperes de 20-30 minuts.

La nostra cambrera ens va dir "Hola jo seré la seva cambrera" i crec que va apareixa un parell de cops per la taula. Sort del cap de sala!

També sembla que el turista és més ben atès que El de casa. Suposo que les crítiques a les webs Japoneses, xineses o americanes generen més negoci.

Yes its expensive. Yes its amazing in all ways.

Great central location. Garden room was spacious and high specification as you would expect, including a large circular bath.

Staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. A special anniversary request was lavishly provided for and made the stay ever more special.

Make sure you go to the roof top bar for the views (although €20 for a cocktail).

Special thanks to the desk and doormen (alberto) who both directed our onward rail connection to Sitges, and recommended restaurants.

Can't wait to go back.

Bien, mais les cocktails en terrasse ne sont pas bons, et le service n’est pas à la hauteur de la renommée de l’établissement. Dommage car celui de Paris est au top!

The most unique 5stars hotel in Barcelona. Exquisite gastronomy and service. For corporate meetings, probably your best option. Kudos to Mandarin Oriental Barcelona.
