Casa González, Madrid

This was real feel of Madrid with helpful staff to explain wine and cheese and delicious food. Reasonable price too.

Petite adresse qui ressemble à une épicerie mais on y mange des plats et des tapas succulents. Très large choix et excellents produits. Serveur moustachu adorable (et parle français!)

Excelente selección de vinos y fiambres españoles y de quesos nacionales y franceses. Ideal también para tomarse algo, un tapeo, un vino.

It's your typical tapas bar in Madrid, but then again it isn't. It definitely has the feel of a locals hang. The prices were quite reasonable and the staff was very friendly, although when the topic of football came up, I was quick to say that I wasn't going to give my opinion. When pressed by the staff about my opinion in a friendly, making nice, kind of way, I told them I didn't like Atletico or Real, and that I supported Barcelona. This of course got hmmms and ahhhs from everyone in close proximity. I shrugged and smiled and was given a fresh glass of wine and tapas. I then joked with the staff asking if it was poisoned. The server replied with a smile, "this is Spain, even though you are not a supporter, you are not an enemy, and we believe in feeding our enemies anyway".

Aunque han tardado un poco en atendernos podemos confirmar que se trata de un lugar épico de Madrid. Con tostas super deliciosas.

Hemos entrado sin pensar, y sin conocerlo, y ha sido una grata sorpresa. Vinos y quesos de calidad de verdad, no de postureo. Ambiente distendido y servicio amable y atento.

Nice place for tapas and wine off the beaten path. The cheese toast and Quince jam were excellent as was the Iberian ham. Vino Tinton was also very good.
