It is a bar that looks like the cafes of the late nineteenth century. It has two floors where there are traditional white marble tables and a counter covered with tiles, where you can traditionally have a chocolate with churros.

In a traditional way, it is open every day of the year. Due to its proximity to Puerta del Sol, it is the place, if you have patience, where the first chocolate of the Year is usually had.

Mítica chocolatería de Madrid, muy antigua y con un chocolate muy bueno. El servicio es muy rápido pese a la cantidad de gente que normalmente hay. Lógicamente, debido a la fama que tiene, que atrae un monton de gente, si lo que buscas es tranquilidad, aquí no vas a encontrarla. Además la zona es muy bonita para pasarla y disfrutar de las luces navideñas.

Un clasico de Madrid perolos churros no estan igual y las porras son barras de pan.como cambian los tiempos.

Increible chocolate espeso con gran sabor. Y churros ricos. No aceitosos pero esta vez fríos y no crujientes.

Lugar emblemático del Madrid castizo imprescindible en cualquier visita a la ciudad. Suele haber bastante gente pero merece la pena, la cafetería original es la situada en el número 5, también tienen un local anexo para llevar y otro al otro lado de la calle. El mobiliario es original y el ambiente muy agradable por no hablar de las porras, churros y chocolate… buenísimos.

Vale la pena las filas y espera. Revisen bien las filas por que hay una para pedir, otra para recoger, y otra para sentarse. No recomiendo que se sienten adentro y debajo por que huele feo ‍

Lo malo la cola que hay que hacer, pero mereció la pena

Uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Madrid y que hay que visitar si váis por el centro. Suele estar hasta arriba de gente pero las porras, churros y chocolate que hacen bien merecen la espera. Se puede comprar para llevar o bien esperarse y disfrutar de las porras y los churros sentado en la cafetería, hay que pagar primero en la caja lo que vas a consumir y luego hacer la cola para que los camareros te digan dónde sentarte y te sirvan.

El chocolate caliente muy rico, muy, muy espeso. Los churros creo que no son tan frescos y livianos como deberían ser. He comido mejores.

It is a fun and classic stop when seeing Madrid. You have to get the churros con chocolate which were delicous. Possibly only thing to improve were that the churros were not hot but still very good.
