A somewhat unwelcoming atmosphere, with simple and overpriced food.
We have been to many Lebanese restaurants and by comparison found the food to be unimpressive here.
On our first attempt to eat here, we stopped by the restaurant on a Friday to ask if there was a table. With a straight face we were told that a reservation was required. We decided to reserve online and come back the next day.
The reservation process required a credit card and charged 20 euros per person in case you don’t show up. This felt drastic, but it wasn’t a problem for us as we intended to show up.
When we arrived the next day on a Saturday for our 8: 00pm reservation, the restaurant was only half full.
When ordering, we asked the waiter if the shish taouk (a 17 euro grilled plate) was cooked or marinated in dairy/lactose. Since it came with yogurt on the side, we weren’t sure if it was cooked in it as well. We asked in English and Spanish. He said no, but didn’t seem confident.
The food took a while to arrive, but eventually was served by another server. We asked the other server if the food was cooked in dairy, and he immediately said yes.
Because of this, we had to order a different plate on top of our first one.
Overall, there are better, cheaper, more accommodating and friendlier places to eat in Madrid.
