Restaurante vegano VEGA opiniones
60WOW VEGA! None of us are actually vegan but we thought to give Vega a try and we are glad we did! Upon arrival my party of 4 was quickly accommodated to a table. The menu is fully vegan - but you wouldn't know it! We had two sets of the appetizers (3 for €5), we shared some tapas (roasted potatoes and jackfruit tacos were the highlight), I had some roasted vegetables with romesco sauce and my friend had the butternut squash soup. But the real showstopper for us was the dessert selection! The apple and Banana crumble with coconut ice cream was to die for! Pannacota and chocolate mousse were also 10/10. Good selection of wines and soft drinks, and the service was attentive and personal. Highly recommended.
Not very happy with my visit. Had three different appetizers which apart from the aubergine one were not very nice. Dont know what it was. Also the nachos/chips they put in the sauces seemed kinda old/not crisp. The two beers were slammed onto out table without a look or a word. After that they asked us whether we wanted to stay for dinner. At first we said yes but we didnt as we felt really unwelcome. A shame really as vegan restaurants have to put more work into it and not only be focusing on money. I realise its a business at the end of the day but friendliness should be prio. There are plenty other all vegan restaurants in town with better service.
Absolutely the best vegan restaurant where I have eaten lately. Every dish is prepared with exceptional care and delivers a unique flavour experience.
An absolutely amazing meal. I took my family here who are not vegan and they were all blown away. Such friendly service, and delicious, creative, quality food. We shared between us 4 the pumpkin soup, jackfruit tacos, chickpea rolls, chili con carne, and the Hawaiian poke bowl, then finished with a chocolate coconut mousse. All really beautiful dishes with great depth of flavor. Absolutely will go back.
I went around 3: 30 (party of 1) and only had to wait a minute. AMAZING food.after no access to vegetarian or vegan food in northern Spain, I was thrilled to get this place recommended. And their food was superb! They speak a little English, but during busier hours I can imagine it would be more difficult.
I really don't understand some of the bad reviews on here - we loved Vega, the staff was friendly and efficient and the food was totally excellent - I've been vegan for 13 years and have lived around the world and this was some of the best and most original vegan food I've ever had. We had the appetisers (smoked aubergine pate was divine), the burrata which was a total revelation, the zucchini lasagna which was so fresh and bursting with flavour, the 'squid ink' risotto which my non vegan partner thought was better than the real thing and then finally the tiramisu and the panacotta. Both desserts were flawless and my partner kept saying that he would never have known these to be vegan, which is pretty tricky for such traditionally dairy-based desserts! Overall this was a really great dining experience and we will definitely be back.
I read all these amazing reviews about Vega so I was quite intrigued by it.
I agree that the Service is pretty poor, I was there several days so I can say honestly that I might as well have been invisible: mostly I was tended by a young man, constantly on the phone while talking to me, taking bookings. I mean, it's ok, I see that someone has to answer the phone but he never once apologised for interrupting his conversation with me, so after a few minutes I lost interest.
The lunch time rush it's not for me. I had to sit by the bar, very awkward as there's no leg room, and I had a main and a cup of tea for 11€ which is not cheap.
My favourite was merienda, in between lunch and dinner, when you can have a pudding and a coffee for 4.50€: the puddings were great but the coffee isn't the best I have had in Madrid.
I noticed that the reviews tend to be challenged, so I won't be surprised if someone writes back an abrupt reply, but it would only show that I am right about the attitude of the Staff. No smiling, no greetings, not even a thank you for leaving a tip.
Hugely overrated Restaurant, so many other places in Madrid where being a guest is always a pleasure and never taken for granted.
So. Bloody. Good. We had the curry, burrata, dips and Caesar salad. Curry was amazing, the vegan burrata was super weird but the tomatoes were tasty. The vegan cheese in the salad tasted like Parmesan. It was packed, but we got a seat quickly.
Difficult for me to review since I am not sure whether I suffered food poisoning here or not. If this was not the place then the food was fantastic. Possibly the best veg restaurant that I have been too. I am not strictly vegetarian and do indulge in meat every now and again and this time I had a chicken salad dish. There were simply too many options to choose from on the menu and I would have gone back more than twice. A must for vegetarians.
Good food, maybe somethings slightly undercooked. Staff leaves a lot to be desired. Not overly friendly or helpful. First time I went I thought maybe it was just an off night, second time I went I basically stood in the door and was looked at for a few minutes until someone came up and told me I couldn’t be seated for an hour. Had I been told reservations were preferred I would have done so but I felt like I was more just a bother and inconvenience. Being the food industry is a service based industry I couldn’t give this place more than two stars on food alone. Make sure you have a reservation if you go.
