Pizzeria La Rusticana, Alicante

The waiters were attentive and very nice, the place is clean and one does not have to worry about the safety of the food. The food is palatable. This earns them two stars.

I and a few others each had pizza and some people at my table had pasta.

There was nothing wrong with the food, but I found the pizzas to be very far from what I expect at an Italian restaurant.

I don't know if they bake the bottoms themselves or if they are bought, but this is not a place where they prepare a dough on top of which they put what you order.
The texture of the pizza bottom was a bit weird, and I was very curious how it was made so I had a look into the kitchen (didn't enter, just stood by the bar which has a view of the kitchen). The pizza bottoms are all in pans, which explains the texture, but I didn't see them putting dough into pans, just pans being brought to a table where ingredients were put on, and then into an oven they went.

There are contexts where the pizza I had would be totally acceptable, like at a school function or a big caffiteria where they are making pizzas for a few hundred people, where effeciency and cost are the main concerns. At an Italian restaurant, which has, rustic" in its name, I expect a sourdough pizza made in a furnace. For 6.50 Euros, I expect more than a very high standard Dr. Oetker pizza.

The pasta dishes that were served were ok, portions were generous, but they did not live up to the rustic, genuine Italian, expectations we had.

If you're just looking for a place to feed a family, where the food is safe and palatable, this restaurant is fine.
Sometimes when you are travelling, this is all you ask, I definitely wouldn't advise people against coming to this restaurant, but I was underwhelmed.

If you are looking for a place that serves Italian food, look elsewhere.

The food did not taste bad, we all walked away full and we finished our plates, it just was not what we expected.

Muy buenos precios y la pizza muy muy buena. Al llegar nos dieron Champagne y para los menores dan un San Francisco, los camareros muy majos y educados y el ambiente muy bueno. La mejor pizzeria de calpe sin duda

Las pizzas están buenísimas y tienen opciones sin gluten. Además nos recibieron con una copita de cava y muy atentos. Precios muy asequibles.

Pizzería donde tomar una sabrosa pizza, un buen plato de pasta u otros platos de la carta ; las raciones son generosas, y el precio bastante razanoble. Te obsequian con una copa de cava y al terminar un buen chupito digestivo. Volveremos.

Es una absoluta vergüenza de local. Jamás me he sentido tan maltratado, engañado y ninguneado en un restaurante. No una sino dos veces durante este verano me han dicho que me ofertaban pizzas para recoger y cuando voy a hacer el pedido me dicen que no están disponibles hasta las 23: 30. Después de elegir las pizzas me dicen que ya no están disponibles. Entonces para que me engañan. Creo que lo más grave que puede cometer un establecimiento de servicio de comidas a la hora de tratar a sus clientes es engañarlos. Y es, precisamente, lo que me han hecho el pasado domingo 4 de agosto y hoy mismo. No volveré jamás. Me siento engañado y la oferta en la zona de lo que ofrecen es enorme. Sólo espero que el negocio les sea tan poco fructífero como merecen.

La verdad se nota que es un sitio de paso, el servicio fatal, hasta el final de la cena no trajeron cubiertos, lo único que tardó más que la comida fue el servicio de atendernos, además tuvimos que cenar con una pareja al lado que no conocíamos de nada y me refiero a estar pegados, por otro lado tuvieron un detalle de bienvenida y las pizzas están buenísimas.

Very nice. New owners and the staff trying hard to please. Glass of cava free on arrival and food good Italian/German inspired. Wines good and not expensive. Worth a trip.

Trato excelente. Servicio rápido. Copa de cava y chupito de cortesía. Comida bien preparada. Precios adecuados. Comedor interior y terraza.

Pizzería. Excelente decoración, excelente trato y muy amables, bien de precio. Les pondría 5 * si hicieran ellos la masa de las pizzas y no fuera precocida además de subir un poco la calidad de los ingredientes. Aún así es recomendable por el precio y la atención.

My goodness bring back the previous owners. We had seafood pasta and spicy bacon pasta. All came with the same sauce which tasted and smelt like it was from a jar. Very disappointing as we had told our grandson all about the train which wasn't running. We definitely will not be going again.
