The Med Bistro & Bar, Alicante

Thank you to the staff ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC SERVICE. Myself and my partner want to say a special thanks to the lady from Poland (not sure of her name but would like to know for our next visit in August. She has tattoos on both arms). The management should be proud as she goes the extra mile for her customers. We are from Newcastle! Looking forward to our next visit.

Editing my review from a few weeks back to give much more positive feedback. The food is always great; that's never been an issue. However, on occasion in the past, the service has been inconsistent. I'm very glad to say that this was not remotely the case yesterday. The service I got was excellent. Well done, and thank you, sir. And yes, the food was still excellent.

Great place to enjoy some excellent food. We have been here for the first time but we will come again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our specials very much. The price is a little bit higher than we normally pay at a Spanish restaurant but well worth it.

Good food except for the fish and chips. Meatballs french fries and tempura shrimp very good.deserts more than good. Fish and chips not good the fish was not so fresh anymore

Didn't have food. We just met a couple of friends here for drinks. Very good service, lovely atmosphere and exceptional decor inside.

A nice little place. Service is a bit slow. They don't do children's portions. Food is hit and miss. Sometimes lovely, sometimes not so much.

Excellent Food Drinks and Service. We visited on Friday 5th November at 7pm the place was packed to the rafters we managed to get the last table that was available. Service was really fast considering how busy the bar was, food was amazing. We will definitely have to book when we are over again and not just take a chance as we may be left disappointed next time. Keep up the great work Med Bar we love this place now.

Only had a drink here after cycling around El Raso. Pleasant outside bar and restaurant in green surroundings - plants all around the outside.

Great venue that is funky inside, good selection to choose from, great food at reasonable prices, friendly and professional staff. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Lots of shady areas outside but plastic chairs without cushions so hot and sticky. Service was very slow but the staff were pleasant. The food was either frozen or in my case the chicken was dry. Wouldn't bother again. Normally wouldn't have gone here but unfortunately choice was limited on this day.

Food very good as always. Been lots of times. Service was a bit slow this time but nothing too bad and it was very busy. Had a good night and a free round of drinks to make up for the slow Service. Thanks, we'll see you again soon.

I went there with my wife and two friends. We arrived at 16.40 and requested a table for four people. We were told that all the tables outside were reserved but we could sit indoors. Disappointed, we agreed but then to be told a table (number 46) was available outside. All was fine until the sun started shining on our table and it started to get extremely hot and uncomfortable. We kept moving our table until there was nowhere else to go. Now we know why this table was available! At the end of the meal, we requested the bill and also if we could speak to the owner. (The bill was paid at 18.38) Brian, the owner came over to us and firstly we praised him for the lovely food and the friendly staff, then we explained to him the issue we had with the table. We explained he must have known that the table we given, would be in the sun, yet there were tables reserved but people turning up until 19.30 and 20.00. Brian's answer was "this is Spain" and he did not know that table 46 was in the sun although he had been at this property for many years. Our point to Brian was although these tables were reserved, he could have asked how long we intended to stay and therefore could have given us a table in the shade but no, instead he told us not to return to his restaurant again. We asked him if it meant that we were banned to which his answer was "YES".
It's a shame as we were only trying to give constructive feedback but Brian did not appreciate it.
I'm also now aware that we are not the first to be banned and will not be the last. Be aware.
