Villamartin Plaza, Alicante

Ambiente maravilloso, muy agradable sin entretenimiento ruidoso. Ojalá siga siendo así en el futuro. Nos gusta charlar durante la cena.

Estuve aquí hace muchos años con mi marido. Ahora tiene una vibra al respecto. Fui durante el día y pensé que era encantador.

Muy ingles Eso es No hay bares o restaurantes españoles. Pero el rincón infantil tiene dueños españoles. Hubo mucha música en la temporada, ahora termina en 2023. Más lugares de karaoke. Passion disco hasta las 0730. ¡Necesita renovación y limpieza!

Muchos buenos lugares para comer, también lugares más caros y exclusivos. Nos ha gustado el restaurante HenśTeeth.

Disappointed on our visit this year, the Plaza looks scruffy and tired. Broken tiles in the Plaza and uneven pavements surrounding the venue. Shame its been left to deteriorate like this.

Great venue with many excellent restaurants and bars. Only downside terrible internet reception.

Considerable need of a revamp, most notably from the charmless if not grotty lower level front entrance with, sadly, rather too many of its restaurants that are either just 'ok' or not worth returning to. Eduardos is one example. Very smart looking interior. Nice service, Reasonably priced. Food as bland as hell.
Max's (pictured) is another to avoid for its lacklustre food, including the fish & chips which tasted 'old. '

Quesada fish & chips restaurant serves orange, rubbery chips, unremarkable fish (the batter is, presumably as cheap as chips) and has an unfriendly, oppressive air about it where people will stare in your direction but there's no chance of a smile.
It's the only place I have ever experienced with this 'odd vibe' about it. Watching some baldy bloke in the kitchen defiantly drop a large lump of phlegmy spit into a bin summed it up. I say 'defiantly. ' He looked up, saw me looking aghast.wasn't phased remotely. He spent the rest of the time not wearing his covid mask properly.
Just a rough-edged, charmless 'slop. '

The Hens Teeth* was the best, reasonably-priced restaurant I tried but I mostly gave up on the Plaza over a year ago so am not bang up to date. (* It's still good, very good, actually; had the New York burger. It was spot on as, again, was the attentive, friendly 'normal' service.)

Villamartin Plaza is, mostly, some way short on the much better standard of restaurants you will discover effortlessly either La Zenia Boulevard or Playa Flamenca commercial centre. (I would give the charmless, aloof-cum-rude all-out-of-a-box 'Semana 8' a miss at the latter venue, however. Having studied many of Semana 8's reviews from various sites and fallen victim myself - my own review refers- they can be distinctly less than charming, even for the Chinese which, unless you speak Chinese, are historically remote at best. Or downright miserable. Seems to depend on numbers. And heaven forbid if you go in on your own during 'happy hour. ' Trade description anomaly there, me thinks. No thanks to all that, then; why take the risk?).

Meanwhile, back at the Plaza.

It does seem to remain popular (convenient, more likely?) with tourists however and, by nightlight and especially with live music from the central podium, it is pleasant enough. There have been some improvements in the last year in terms of restaurant standard and appearance.

Steakstones is worth a go. Try the cheaper steak; it's novel to cook it yourself on the hot stone it comes on. The male owner, Ray, from Dublin) is an amenable guy who knows how to host.

Some brickwork on one of the staircases -visible from Eduardo's- appeared in urgent need of repair in May 2018, with a large disconcerting crack zig-zagging through its mortar. (photo: Oct '18.if it ever uploads.it never did despite multiple attempts.) Nothing since done by the management, then. Perhaps if it collapses and falls on a young family's heads they might be driven to issue a statement?

The fabric of the place is looking tired now and in need of a revamp. However still plenty of bars and restaurants giving good service.

Fantastic meal at chil! Some restaurants had no walk Inn space for seating outside. Book if u can. Chil! Was excellent service and food, price was good as well.

Shame it's being spoilt by several bars and restaurants being under the same ownership and don't live up to expectations. Best bar is Chemies and best restaurant Fairways in my opinion

Very quiet hence little atmosphere but it is only to be expected. Great if you want a quiet meal with a choice of restaurants

Great base for a night out there are lots of restaurants to pick from I used 3 che steak house loved it really nice steak and a fair price for the food I received then there was the copper chimney this was an Indian really nice meal and good value, the 3rd of these was Bogeys I will be honest at best this was just about ok it was not for me some of the people I was with did enjoy it so I will leave it at that the bars and restaurants were all friendly and I had a great time i would recommend a visit.

Very good for getting plenty of different types of food would highly recommend to family and friends

This is a great place, it gives you a summer holiday vibe. Lots of bars and restaurants to go to and great outside entertainment in the summer months but you need to book early. Also there are lots of charity events too

This is an amazing place to either eat drink or just have a chill out watching the World go by. Many bars & Restaurants to choose from like Al a Carte down to Burger”s or Pizza and not forgetting a very good chip shop and Curry Houses to. Enjoy
