Europcar Rent a Car, El Prat de Llobregat

Comme beaucoup je vous conseil de bien vérifier l'état de la voiture lors du retrait car nous avons du faire face à des personnes plus méticuleuse au retour de la voiture. Dans notre malheur nous avions dû payer une assurance or de prix qui fais que nous ne payerons pas les dégâts constaté au retour (que nous n'avions pas commis d'ailleurs) car les Mastercard et bien d'autres cartes de sont pas accepter.
Un séjour qui nous a coûte bien cher. Je ne suis pas prête de renouveler l'expérience de la location de voitures en tt cas.

This place is run by con artists. I had a reservation for 175 euros. When I arrive, they say that because I made the reservation through the US website but I have a European rather than US passport, I have to buy third-party liability insurance (200 euros in addition to the reservation price of 175). They say it's "company policy" to require Europeans (but not US citizens) to pay for that insurance (This was just a lie; when a few days later I picked up a car from Europcar in a different European country I was not required to buy any insurance). I wasn't willing to pay more than twice the reservation price, so I asked them to cancel the reservation but they wouldn't do it, they said I had to do it online (even though it's not possible to cancel online after the reservation time has already passed). A few days later they charge me 95 euros as no-show fee, even though I was there and I didn't pick up the car just because they wouldn't honor the price of my reservation.

Those guys are here to rip you off period, no shame. Prepaid my rental vw routan or similar for pick up at 10 am. Showed up early at 830am to be told that no car was available and I would have to wait til my actual reservation time - mind you, the parking lot is full of cars. The guy at counter that barely speaks English then proceeded to tell me that I could upgrade to a mercedes minivan for a mere sum of 20eur per day! I refused, so he let me simmer there til 10am. When I came back at 10am, this big British lady really pushed me to upgrade to a better car as the one they provided me was a Dacia, which she claimed was not good. She was also very pushy with add'l insurance and roadside assistance. They were relentless, and I finally caved in to an upgrade of 10eur per day for a Citroen C4 after having been at the counter for over 2 hrs. Drove off 30 mins then Adblue warnings came on, which said that needed to be refilled or else car won't be able to start? I was already behind on schedule and didn't want to drive back and forth to car rental agency. We managed to buy the Adblue liquid and added it ourselves, kept the receipt and got it reimbursed when we returned the car. At return, I made sure to grab the guy who checks the car to do thorough walk through and took video and photos to make sure they do not scam me with damages we didn't do. Then proceeded to counter to get Adblue Refund as well as final invoice. I will never rent from this company again. They are so deceitful, betting on the fact that we're tired after coming from a long way, and that we'll cave in to their pushy sales behavior. The total bill came up to 200eur more than what I was initially quoted but I think it could have been much worse based on what I've read about them. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

Shame I didn't check these reviews prior to our rental. Can relate to many of the disappointments listed in other reviews. Considering the ease of train & bus to all regional towns for 2± hours nth/sth of Barcelona. Excited to return to Barcelona and not rent a car at all for a more pleasant journey (and cheaper). Please research and be well prepared for delays and overly complicated service if you go for this car rental.

If I could give this morning minus 1 I would. The lady behind the desk was very unpleasant. Booked an intermediate car and give a golf. Not per their description on line. Cancelled contract. Wouldn't go near with a barge pole if u have any sense.
