Hotel Catalonia Magdalenes, Barcelona

Where is the 4 star service for +400 Euro rooms. At arrival (by car) at check-in the reception manager started chatting we could not stay, fully booked but another hotel close by. We kindly refused, then they want to put us in handicap room, not very romantic… we refused to stay in such a room. The room after, plastic interior but could not close the blinds and have window open, also looking straight into the room opposite. Also 200, - credit, crazy contract for dog and 20 per night very overrated. Overall staff nice, tiny pool on the roof, dog nowhere in the public areas. Way over priced stay, poor bedding, really regret the 2 night spend, however location is very central. Next time will do regular 5 star again in Barcelona!

We were lucky to stumble upon this amazing hotel. This was the last leg of our trip and we felt so spoiled by coming here. The service is impeccable at all times of the day and the hotel truly felt like being a 5 star resort.

The hotel room was super clean but not sterile. It was in an amazing location close to Plaça de Catalunya and very close to the metro. It is in a quiet alleyway really close to the main street.

Staff members were all very attentive without being intrusive. They were always available and ready to help. We left our suitcases with the staff as we arrived early and wanted to see the city before our check-in. We felt really comfortable leaving our stuff as they had a great system in place.

Breakfast was included and it was an amazing dining experience. So many options and really amazing quality food. The window for breakfast was also really wide and when we were dining, we didn't bump into too many other patrons.

Highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in Barcelona! We can't wait to go back in a few years.

Superb hotel in a great location and all the staff gave exceptional service. My wife and I arrived from a cruise early on a Sunday morning, ahead of our check-in time and were welcomed with a glass of bubbly at the hotel - so the first impressions were excellent. We were allowed to store our luggage as we went off to tour Barcelona and we were later phoned by the hotel who informed us that our room was available.

The room was great, spacious and comfortable. The manager gave us advice on where to eat and what to see including advice on the beaches to use. Everyone made us feel welcome and the facilities were superb throughout, especially the rooftop pool area and bar.

We stayed for 4 days and even on our departure, the staff made sure that we were OK for transport and tended to anything we wanted.

The hotel is in a great central location and Barcelona is a wonderful place.

Thanks to all the staff at the hotel. We would not hesitate in recommending or coming back here in the future.

Hôtel idéalement situé, accueil chaleureux, chambre magnifique, avec plein de petites attentions. Le buffet du petit déjeuner permet toutes les envies. Un régal.

Nous avons passé un séjour de deux nuits dans cet hôtel c’était magnifique.
L’hôtel Et les chambres sont propre et proche du centre ville.le personnel très accueillant.
Il dispose d’un joli petit spa et d’une terrasse avec piscine sur le toit juste splendide.
Le buffet déjeuner était incroyable.
Cette hôtel était plus que conforme à nos attentes nous avons adoré merci.

En séjour du 24 au 27 décembre de cette année. Le personnel était clairement au top du top. Humour accueil chambre plus que parfaite service niquel petit déjeuner de rois.

Excellent service. We extended our stay because we liked it so much. It’s Cousy and quite, perfect to sleep in a big city. There are a view extra coasts, we just learned about after we booked (parking, pets…). Defiantly would book it again

La situación del hotel es estupenda para conocer el barrio gótico, y Barcelona centro. El personal del hotel muy amables y pendientes de que todo estuviera correcto. Limpieza de 10 y desayunos de de 11, una pena no poder disfrutar de la piscina.

Well, first of all the location was fantastic - close to the metro/subway, restaurants, shopping and tapas/vino.

Every employee at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Extra shout out to our Filipino brother at the terrace bar and especially Adam who worked in the hotel lobby. Adam always greeted us with a smile, made sure we ate at the best restaurants, and would run to the street to get us a cab when we were running late for a cooking class.

Breakfast was wonderful, spa steam room was pretty good! Hot tub is a great design, but not hot enough for Americans. I would say about 90 F.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

If you have the opportunity, definitely attend a FC Barcelona match!

Very nice and posh hotel with ease of checking in upon arrival. Friendly and cheerful staff willing to go out of their way for you. Tasty and plentiful breakfast.

Terrific hotel in Barcelona's Old City/Barri Gotic
We loved everything about our stay at Catalonia Magdalenes! The room was large and immaculate and well decorated. The boutique hotel is on a small side street in the Old City, so no cars driving by at all hours. It's just steps away from restaurants and sights (cathedral) and shopping. The front desk/reception is welcoming and helpful with assistance and recommendations. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. And there's even a rooftop pool and a treatment spa. We'll definitely book the Catalonia Magdalenes again and highly recommend it.

This is our second visit to this hotel and the staff are amazing. The rooms are clean and efficient. Great location to everthing in the Gothic area.
Adam, Nadia and Bruno were as always very helpful.
Marco at the rooftop bar is pleasant and helpful.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour de 4 nuits dans cet hôtel! L'espace spa est superbe et le rooftop avec sa piscine: fabuleux.
Les chambres sont grandes très propres et bien insonorisées.
Le personnel est très souriants et aux petits soins.
Un Merci particulier à Justin de nous avoir conseillé sur certaines choses à faire.
Seul bémol: les flacons de gel douche et de shampoing étaient vides dans la douche, nous avons demandé 3x mais ils n'ont jamais été remplis.
Lors de notre prochain voyage à Barcelone nous reviendrons! A très vite!

Sehr tolles Stadthotel, super Lage in der Altstadt wo man alles fussläufig erreicht. Ausserdem ein tolles Frühstück sowie ausgesprochen nettes Personal. Vor allem Roger von der Reception war uns immer behilflich, sei es mit Buchung von Fussballtickets oder mit Restaurant Empfehlungen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort buchen. This is a really lovely hotel with fantastic and attentive members of staff who are always willing to help in any way they can. We stayed for 5 nights over the Easter break. The hotel is clean, very well decorated and stylish. There is an indoor spa area which has a steam room and hydropool with an area for optional paid spa treatments. The rooftop bar is brilliant and has sunbeds and loungers where you can enjoy a cocktail. Breakfast is €20 per person per day which may initially seem expensive but when compared to other places in the centre it's quite reasonable. The hotel is located really well, the shuttle bus from the airport takes you to the centre where you only need to walk 10 mins or so to reach the hotel. You can't hear any of the hustle and bustle outside on the streets which was a welcomed surprise. It's a perfect city break and we've really enjoyed ourselves.
