The Barcelona EDITION

My wife and I went out for dinner and love rooftops. So we called to make a reservation, but this was not possible.

On arrival the rooftop was full, so they recommended us to stay for a drink in the hotel lobby. After 45 mins we were invited to go upstairs, but on the rooftop they told us the kitchen closed at 10pm

If you want to have dinner at the rooftop, be there before 8pm.

Terrible service! Extremely disrespectful on the terrace, no air conditioner making it feel terrible, 50€ for eating the menu that was 4 pinchos, I went to another place to eat 1 hour later

Uncomfortable bed and paper thin walls. Can hear neighbors plugging something in to outlet. Can hear luggage rolling down the hallway.

Great Hotel, the bed feels like heaven. The terrace is very nice, also the food and drinks. They have a club in the basement which provides free entry for Hotel guests. The staff is phenomenal. The location is nice, you're in the middle between all sightseeings. You can reach everything by foot. It's the best Hotel in Barcelona!

We are having the best experience ever. The hotel is super nice, rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. The rooftop bar is great and have an amazing view of the city. The best part is the entire staff. They all are great, always with an smile and willing to help you and make everything easy for you. Love this hotel and will comeback for sure. This hotel was one of the best I’ve stayed at in the world. The edition staff go above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect. We really loved the location and the rooftop overlooking the city. Edition bedding and bath products made us never want to leave. I can’t wait for the Madrid location to open in early 2022

Edition is always a great option they never disappoint. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Claudia at the reception was so helpful and the security man out the door Mustafa was very supportive, and all of his colleagues they helped me find my missing car key when I fist checked in after a long drive

Awesome stay in a beautiful hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The roof-top bar is one of a kind with delicious cocktails.

We stayed at The Barcelona EDITION overnight to have a little city escape with the family. We booked 2 guest rooms through AMEX experience and also being a Gold member of the Bonvoy program. I was really hoping for an upgrade or at least adjoining rooms but it didn't happen. We got upgraded one notch to Deluxe room, however, in all honesty comparing to other Category 8 hotels of Bonvoy it was disappointing. Nice and clean and above all new, but small rooms. In other reviews I saw 'amazing views' as a part of the experience but for us the views weren't this good.we saw another building from our room. It was nice on the roof but I wouldn't call it spectacular.
From the really nice things we really enjoyed the food. Breakfast was really good and we loved it as well as tapas at night on the roof with the Asian influences.
So on the positive note:
+ New Hotel
+ Very Clean and nice atmosphere
+ The roof as a nice touch, but small

As the negatives:
- overpriced in comparison to other offer in the same family of hotels
- No perks
- Limited entertainment options especially for families
- Small rooms

Super stay, good service. Roof top terrace Is always accessible for clients which is nice during august when it gets easily full. Love the suite with the unique bathroom and the little welcoming gift personalised for each guest.

Nous sommes arrivés et n’avons malheureusement pas eu de place à l’extérieur sur la terrasse. Nous sommes installés a l’intérieur en face d’une vitre …
Quelques minutes plus tard des gens arrivent et sont placés à l’extérieur (alors que nous l’avions demandé à la base). Nous interpellons Un jeune serveur (peut être débutant) pour qu’il prenne notre commande. Heureusement car sinon nous allions déjà attendre 10minutes …
APRÈS 35 MINUTES D’ATTENTE.
Voilà les 2 cocktails …
L’un à base de «  whisky et coco » à 14€ l’autre à base de « gin et pamplemousse » 12,5€, l’un avait un léger goût d’eau de coco sans alcool, l’autre servit dans une mini coupette de 3 cm de haut (cf photo) et n’était vraiment pas gustatif!

Ce fut une expérience vraiment décevante … nous ne recommandons ABSOLUMENT pas ce rooftop quand bien même sommes amateur de ce genre de lieu et d’établissement… celui ci n’est pas à la hauteur!

Hotel molt ben situat al Born. Acollidor, equipat amb tota mena de detalls i amb un equip de professionals sempre disposats a ajudar-te. Les habitacions són molt complertes i còmodes. Totalment recomanable si passeu per Barcelona!

New hotel in a great location but they're still working some of the kinks. It's a Marriott property and my friend is the second highest level of the Marriott rewards so everytime we travel to a Marriott property we get free breakfast and upgraded rooms. Not here, breakfast is 24 euros but for him only 19. So not really a rewarding experience for loyalty. Rooms are nice but on the small size. Minimalist design, nice colors but the mattress is not comfortable. I like a firm mattress, the one in the room is the complete opposite. Pillows also are a bit soft. They have a nice rooftop bar/restaurant with great views of the city and there's also what they call a dipping pool. So if you're ok with walking through the rooftop bar in your swimsuit to get to the big bathtub of cold water they call a rooftop dipping pool then go ahead, if you are like me and actually like a pool, then don't book this hotel just for the pool. Staff was very nice and they get extra credit for good service, but there's lots of room for improvement in the service, especially for guests who are brand loyalist.

We stayed in The Barcelona Edition this August and absolutely loved it! Wonderful caring staff and we got upgraded to a beautiful Suite with stunning views. Location is perfect, right by the Gothic quarter. The rooftop is a wonderful treat with romantic atmosphere and nice music. Highly recommend staying there.

Soy vecino de su hotel y mi casa da a la calle Avellá donde tienen ustedes situada la puerta de entrada y salida de servicio de los trabajadores. La puerta hace un chirrido muy molesto a todas horas continuamente cada vez que entra o sale su personal. Su servicio de mantenimiento puede arreglar fácilmente el problema, engrasando las bisagras o cuadrando la puerta metálica. Tengo mi madre que es una persona mayor que no puede descansar debido a este problema. He intentado esta mañana avisar a un trabajador suyo de la situación pero estaba más interesado en fumar su cigarro que atender a este hecho. Ruego encarecidamente presten atención a esto para poder mantener una convivencia vecinal óptima. Gracias.

Fuimos a la terracita del bar a tomar unas copas y las vistas de barcelona son espectaculares. El personal del hotel muy profesional y atento! Las bebidas muy bien! Volveremos!

Fantastic view and friendly staff!

Beautiful sets and decorations makes the place cozy and rather easy to enjoy alone or with company

It is a nice Hotel and there is nothing to complaint, if it were a 3-4 Star Hotel with a rate of 180-220€. However 320+€ and room in the size of a shoebox, a „pool“ smaller than most private pools and a „gym“ with basically nothing in it, seems to be questionable for me. Also I can umderstand that everyone loves to go to the rooftop and have some snacks. Only problem for the ones actually staying at the hotel: you most likely wont get a place at all.

Design: minimalsitic. Means: only a „big mirror“ in the cupboard door, no space for luggage, cosy shower box within the room.

Location: good, next to the gothic district, beach and shopping is a 20min walk. But also here is the question: its an ok location but no great neighbourhood or views from the room.

All in all: they took care to match the minimum requirements to be in the 5* category…. But they are not for real. Good basic hotel, fashionable guests and with a good brand.
