Aloft Madrid Gran Via opiniones
41 I have mixed feelings about my stay. Credit where credit is due the hotel is comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I wish I had read some of the reviews before booking because I would have chosen somewhere else. The hotel is located next to a club that is open until 530am Thursday through Saturday. So every night I struggled to sleep through the sounds of music and bass thrumming through my room. After a few nights of sleeping and touring during the day this lead to feel constantly exhausted.
The room is a good size and comfortable. Our shower water pressure was not great - if you want hot water it barely came out, cold water the pressure was intense. And, like other reviewers, the rooftop was closed and this was not disclosed during booking or checking in.
Me and my 2 friends chose this hotel for a 4 night stay based on recommendations of family/friends and the awesome pictures of the website that included a rooftop bar and rooftop pool. Both the rooftop bar and pool are currentmy closed without any notice. We would have considered other options if that was the case. I asked the front desk for options to switch to a differnt Marriott hotel or other Madrid hotel with rooftop option and they said I would be charged a fee for leaving early since i booked for 4 nights. So instead of being excited tobe here in Madrid I feel let down and stuck after checking in. The rooms seem nice but beware if you are considering this hotel in part for amenities thart don't exist or are closed without any notice.
Service is marvelous, room is spacious. I like their shower room, good water pressure. Prime location, easy access to go around in Madrid.
Staff incredible, view incredible. Honored my titanium status and received insane terrace room. Location ideal for all of main Madrid attractions
The ladies working on the 3rd floor reception and breakfast area were among the nicest and most helpful I have encountered in a hotel. Gracias senoras.
Great find in the middle of Madrid walking distance for shopping, eat out and drinking would definitely recommend
Great location, be nice if there was room service though. Really is missing the room service if you are here on business and working odd hours.
Rooftop view is amazing. Food and beverage prices really reasonable, no gouging! Staff super friendly.
This Marriot co-branded hotel was very nice. Although the exterior is not much to look at the interior and room was updated, clean, and comfortable. The hotel staff is outstanding. This Hotel is located in the heart of the Madrid historic area, walking distance to everything.
A comfortable, clean hotel with the incomparable Anka working her hardest to keep breakfast enjoyable and efficient! She is a gem!
Volveremos!
Pros
Really really friendly staff
Excellent location
Clean
Nice room
Cons
Terrible sound proof in the room, we could hear people in the other room snoring, walking, talking, their Tv.everything:)
Something was wrong with the electricity in the room, if the sensor couldn't detect movement the lights would turn off. It's amazing when that happens while you are showering (at least 5 times) and you end up in complete darkness (no windows or emergency exit lights in the bathroom).
We had a free breakfast but it was hard to find the normal table to eat so we went maybe twice. You basically eat in the lobby so most tables are lounge tables.
For the rooftop bar there is a chance there are no available seats outside, we managed to sit outside only on one occasion (we were there 6 nights) after waiting half an hour.
Maybe it's not busy early afternoon.
This was a 5 star review but I decided to take 3 stars because it has a few issues that are mayor offenders for me.
The good:
1. Employees are beyond friendly and help-full, first time in my life that Hotel Reception goes the extra mile to help and make your trip more comfortable.
2. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, VERY CLEAN, high speed wifi, secure, and modern
3, yes, it does have Cold AC during Fall and that is a super plus for us.
4. Location was excellent.
The not so good:
Hotel is very close to Nightclubs and Bars. For me is very frustrating to get to my room tired after a long day in the city and having to deal with a Party (Club) below me. It was extremely loud. You can feel the Subwoofer vibrations. We felt that this is something Aloft needs to advertise and warn customers before they decide to stay. They changed us to another part of the Building and everything was better (still noisy but not uncomfortable).
Then the next weekend arrived and the music was even louder. Making our stay very uncomfortable again.
If you don't mind loud music and a subwoofer bass shaking your room, then by all means, stay there. If you want a quiet sleep, please, run from this hotel and anything close to it
