Drivalia Car Rental - Alicante Airport

Easy and quick collection of new fleet. Regular shuttle bus service to and from airport. This was my best rental experience. I have rented many cars all over the world, and this one has exceeded all of my expectations. Great value and no surprises. We declined to take additional insurance so we had to make a EUR2000 deposit. This was not what we expected. The return process was smooth and fast. The staff was friendly and professional.

Todo correcto hasta que se nos pinchó una rueda dos días antes de la devolución del coche.

Llamé y me dijeron que tenía que llamar a la grúa y al día siguiente cambiar la rueda. Eso hicimos, llamamos antes de cambiarla ya que no iba a ser la misma marca de ruedas y nos dijeron que no había problema, que nos devolverían el dinero igual.

En total nos gastamos más de 200 euros porque tuvimos que cambiar dos ruedas obviamente. Perdimos toda una mañana buscando nosotros todo.

Al devolverlo nos dijeron que tenían que consultarlo con el jefe (era festivo y no estaba).
Se hicieron una fotocopia de la factura del cambio de ruedas y nos dijeron que no iba a ver problema.

La respuesta unos días más tarde fue que NO NOS IBAN A DEVOLVER EL DINERO ya que las ruedas no eran de la marca Continental sino de Feuvert.
Les dijimos que previamente antes del cambio llamamos y no pusieron objeción ninguna. Su respuesta fue que deberíamos de haber ido al rent a car al día siguiente y ellos nos cambiaban el coche.

En ningún momento nadie nos dijo ese procedimiento, hubiese sido más cómodo para nosotros ir y que nos diesen otro coche. No cambiamos las ruedas por gusto.

Los trabajadores no tienen claro los procedimientos a seguir en estos casos y dan instrucciones contradictorias. Después de muchas llamadas y negativas de devolución, la empresa Sunnycars, con la que habíamos hecho la reserva nos devolvió integro el importe y con mucha rapidez. Si llega a ser por Leasys estaríamos aún peleando por nuestro dinero.

Good service but we have to wait long for the car. He wasn't cleaned yet. But the car itself was very modern and was really nice.

New fleet, simple and fast collection process. Shuffle bus to/from airport was regular. I've rented hundreds of cars around the world and this has been the best experience so far, exceeded all my expectations. Excellent value with no surprise fees. As we choose not to accept additional insurance we had to pay a €2000 deposit, which we were expecting. No issues with returning, was very fast process and the deposit was refunded.
All staff were professional and friendly.

Majoration de la facture de 75€, car il fallait une carte de CRÉDIT et non de DEBIT. La note est salée pour une location de 4 jours. De plus cela n'avait été mentionné nul part.

Alquilé un coche por cinco días para hacer un viaje, la experiencia fue tan buena que volví a alquilar un coche para 15 días, los coches son bastante nuevos. Volveré a alquilar un coche con esta empresa, el precio que contratas es el que pagas y es el precio final.

I edited this review as I gave 4 stars by mistake then pressed Post before I was ready. It has taken me a few days to find the edit feature. Anyhow, great car hire company, no queues and although off- terminal, a regular and friendly shuttle bus gets you to the site quickly and you are soon on your way. Would recommend.

Arrived late in the evening after normal closing time. Staff waited for me at the airport after hours and sorted me out a car in double quick time. Drove me to the office, upgraded me at no extra cost and even escorted me out of the complex airport traffic system. For me in a nearly brand new car, driving on the opposite side of the road in the dark, this was a great help.

Email communication prior to arrival was excellent. Answered emails almost at once and were very understanding of the difficulties placed on travellers by Covid restriction. Car was deep cleaned before handover.

Have used OK Car Rentals in the past, but they never answer emails and spam you nearly every day. I would recommend Drivalia and will be my first choice when in Alicante again. Well done team Drivalia you made a difficult journey so much easier.

Good car, good staff and service, but oh so much more expensive than the alternative car hire companies I usually use. Unlike my usual firms they also overcharge for a tank of fuel and don't refund for anything left.

Would definitely recommend Drivalia. We use them every time we visit Spain and have always had excellent service. We take out the Ultimate Package which includes insurance which we find good value. The cars are always very clean and we've never been kept waiting for the shuttle bus to or from the airport which takes less than 5 mins.

Taken by mini bus from Alicante airport to depot to collect our hire car within 10 minutes of our arrival. Staff at depot were efficient and friendly. Happy to give advice and directions to our final location. Model of car was just what we had ordered and was pristine inside and out. When we returned car we only had to wait 5 minutes for minibus to take us to departures at airport. Everyone was friendly and efficient. Cost of hiring car was competitive with other hire companies but we were impressed by the professionalism of the staff. No stress so would recommend them and we would certainly use them again

If I could put zero stars, I'd do that.

If you value your money DO NOT rent a car from this company. We had already bought an insurance but they tried and tried to get us to buy another one by threatening. The car itself worked well enough but the day we returned it was another story. A very smug man went to "check" the car, meaning he went straight to the front right side and looked underneath the car, finding a scratch that we know for sure we didn't inflict. He didn't check any other parts of the car at all, just started demanding almost 400 euros for damage we didn't do! We went inside to talk it through and the lady at the counter was straight up rude to me, very disrespectful and I was really offended. We ended up having to pay for the scratch that we didn't have anything to do with and we can only hope our insurance covers it.

I repeat, do not use this company.

Best to go direct with this car rental because if you go indirect through a comparison site you may get caught out with the insurance package on offer? Because when you turn up to get your car you will be told about the 1000 euro deposit you have to leave (not taken) & the lack of insurance cover if you go through a comparison site.
I opted to take out the full cover of insurance including breakdown, so paid more overall.
I wont't make that mistake again.
The Fiat 500 I rented was brilliant & enjoyed driving it. All staff are friendly & helpful & the pick up service to & from the airport is great.

Make sure you have full insurance, and check the car with a fine tooth comb before leaving their compound, INCLUDING the underside of the vehicle! On returning my hire care the staff member sat in the drivers seat to check the fuel then got out on the left hand side of the car, walked around the rear and down to the front right hand side WITHOUT even looking at the car, then put his hand underneath the bumper and declared that a plastic panel under the bumper had a 3 cm scratch on it which he said was new damage! The panel was covered in old marks and scratches and the particular 3cm scratch was definitely old! I took a photo to show him but to no avail, fortunately my insurance covered the €320 he decided to charge! This seems to be a regular tactic by drivalia staff particularly at Alicante airport.
My advice.if you don't want a headache and an argument with drivalia's cheeky upstart staff members ; just avoid and use another company!

Watch Out! They are fu.ing cheaters! First they trying agressive sell of extra insurance. Then if you refuse you must look self to find all scratches that are not listed on your contract (does't matter that it was 15 minutes after midnight and I was with 2 children (1 and 5 years old). I found all of them but not under the front bumper. They knew that there are lot of them down there. They triumphed and punished me when I came to return the car becouse I refused extra insurance. I was forced to pay 185,13 Eur for paint scratch under plastic bumper. Car: Opel Astra. Place: Alicante Airport, Time: September 2018. FiND more HONEST and RELIABLE company!

Sadly a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Pick up from airport worked well. As with others very hard sell on insurance and will try to scare you with extra costs/large earmark on credit card. My first rental and I learnt that if using this company you check car thoroughly, they don’t encourage a “walk around” and I found out later it was my responsibility after I had paid, signed everything and given keys - a strange order to do things in. There was a scratch on wing mirror which I noticed 5 mins later at toll road, with two young children who were tired (you get the idea) we carried on and I chose to pursue my holiday. On return they didn’t believe me which doesn’t surprise me and I was half expecting it, what did surprise me

1) 180 Euro for a wing mirror and a 60 Euro admin fee (for what!)

2) Me, my wife and two kids weren’t leaving until it was paid. With this company you are in a compound with a security gate and our minibus wasn’t leaving until I paid. Their approach and manner was blunt and threatening, they didn’t care

I will never use this company again and would suggest that only experienced users of rental cars approach. New to or novices I would avoid as we appear to be easy prey. The scratch I had on wing mirror was very noticeable, they would have known it was there but with it being my first rental in Europe and tired young family I didn’t see it immediately and I have paid price. Not a great way to end holiday, live and learn!

Une des pires experiences de location de ma vie,
leur lecteur de carte bleue ne cessait de dire que nos cartes etaient des cartes de debit et que donc ont ne pouvait bloquer de caution pour la location de la voiture, quel dommage! Il va donc falloir prendre l'assurance full qui coute même plus cher que la location elle même.
FInalement nous cedons mais demandons a lire les conditions pour savoir ce que couvre l'assurance en question. NON les condition en seront imprimées que lorsque vous aurez payé et signé.
La dame appelle donc la police et après 3h sur place la police nous dit de payer car aucune legislation n'oblige les loueurs a quoi que ce soit en espagne.merci drivalia

The worst car rental company I ever used!
I don’t understand what is the point to run this business if you disrespect customers.
I arrived to their office in Mallorca and found that they try to scare you about other cost that you have to pay if you don’t buy their insurance. The young man there was verry rude and there was about 5 other people in the same situation. I decided to go back to the airport and rent a car from proper brand company despite of loosing my deposit. Those guys are scammers so be careful is not worth your time!

Je loue régulièrement des voitures a Alicante et il s'agissait de la première fois avec Drivalia.
Plus jamais! Une escroquerie!
Tout a commencé par un accrochage dans un parking (non responsable) un constat plus loin me voilà de retour à l'agence entrain de faire le diagnostic des quelques rayures du véhicule, bien que couvert par mon assurance Visa j'ai du faire l'avance des frais (350€) ok pas de soucis, c est le jeux me direz vous!
Le seul Hic et que sur place la personne m'a dit avec un sadisme certains que je ne serais remboursé que sur 3 à 12 mois malgré ma non responsabilité!
En fait le plus gros problème vient plutôt du staff ou j'hésite entre non chalance et je m'en foutisme!
Personnel audieux, arrogant et franchement tres désagréable, notamment une jeune femme brune avec des lunettes, se prenomant Maria (mais j en doute!)
La coutume en Espagne est de payer d avance le plein 120€! Pour 50€ au réel dans uns station service! J ai réservé l option Full to empty apparemment (c est a dire rammener la voiture avec le réservoir vide) mais ne le savais pas.j ai donc fait comme je le fais avec ts les autres loueurs rammener la voiture avec le plein d essence full to full.on m a donc restitué 60€ sur mes 120€ le reste etant le tarif appliqué pour "le changement"!
En signalant mon insatisfaction à la personne "Maria" cette dernière a eut une attitude absolument non professionnel et non chalante ne répondant pas a mes questions, me disant également que "des clients comme vous on n'en veut pas ". Aucun respect client, aucune empathie, on est du betaille, des vaches à lait! Bref un dégoût, je ne recommande pas absolument pas! Fuyez!
