Goldcar, Alicante

This company and their employees are absolute scammers. I booked a car and went to collect it on arrival at Alicante. After collecting a ticket and waiting 45 minutes I approached the desk to ask what the delay was. I was told it would be another hours wait unless I paid 35 euros for express service. After grudgingly paying this I went upstairs to collect the car and there was no car there. I had to wait another hour for the car to be delivered. In the meantime I was told by a member of staff that if I didn’t like it then don’t use us again that just summed them up. I took out a policy for excess damage and that still didn’t stop them from trying to rubbish the policy and saying it was worthless we’ll soon find out. On collecting the car I took a video of the car on my phone and when I returned the car I did the same. On inspection by Goldcar
employees two large scratches magically appeared that were not there earlier and I was told I was in a collision. Thankfully I had taken both videos and I will forward them on to the insurance company

Completely disappointed with this company. Price for the car is about 30 euros for four days. But be ready to pay about 130 euros or something like this because to many hidden fees like insurance that sold for you under the guise of refundable deposit, or city tax and green tax. Also agent says that it’s doesn’t matter return the car with the full tank or not, but during the checkout they says that car need be returned with the full tank and charge your card. Never used it again.

Fuyez cette agence! Après une réservation en ligne avec prise d'une assurance supplémentaire pour 120 euros pour une location de 5 jours nous voilà arrivé sur place et c'est là que les problèmes ont commencés.
- On vous propose une assurance tout risque de 135 euros et vous faisant comprendre que l'assurance payée en ligne n'a rien avoir avec eux! Escroquerie.ou alors vous acceptez de laisser 1400 euros de votre carte Visa en gage et là en avant les petits soucis lorsque vous ramenez la voiture pour vous pompez un max de pognon.
- Ensuite il faut payer 87 euros pour le plein de la voiture qu'il faut ramener vide! ça fait cher le litre!
- Pour finir il faut ajouter les différentes "taxes" et frais de dossier de 65 euros.
- Ce qui fait une facture finale de 400 euros pour 5 jours!

Il profite du fait, que de 1 vous avez déjà payé une partie en ligne, de 2 vous venez d'arriver ne comprenez pas tout de ce que vous rajoute sur la facture et que vous attendez avec femme, enfants sans savoir quoi faire!

- J'ai préféré laisser mes 120 euros déjà déboursé et chercher autre chose et une fois rentré chez moi, je ferai les démarches pour récupérer mon argent.

Used Gold Car Spain many times on rentals in the past but on the last rental received an invoice via email for 220 euros. It doesn't state clearly but the description states bumper (that's it). I assume this is for some kind of damage. No explanation, no pictures and no damage report. I wasn't aware of any damage but who knows the Spanish use bumpers in a literal sense to bump off other cars when parking!

Stay away! Had booked a large car for 4 adults and one child. Was instead given an "upgrade" to VW Golf, a tiny car that can fit one suitcase at most.
I canceled my rental agreement immediately.

Personal super amable. El sistema keys and go, es excelente. Coches prácticamente mente nuevos, los dos que alquilamos entre 3 y 5 mil kilómetros. Fácil devolución. Los mejores precios.

Seguramente el peor rentacar con el que hemos viajado. Nos reclaman dinero ya pagado de un contrato anterior del cual no nos habían notificado y, además no nos dejan recoger el vehículo de ahora hasta que no paguemos eso. Estafa total. Centauro mucho mejor, justo delante.

Todo muy bien pero aún no sé si me han devuelto la fianza de 1200 euros que me retuvieron.esto fue el domingo 22 de julio y no se nada.y para llamar es un 902

Si pudiese poner menos estrellas las quitaría todas.lo peor de lo peor, en su web contratas un precio, y al llegar todo mentira, te comienzan a decir que impuestos de aeropuerto y gasolina etc etc.y si seguro a todo riesgo y del alquiler que contrataste en su propia web, te engordan el precio cinco veces más.una estafa.

I've no problems with gold car. The car we ordered was available, wasn't in perfect condition when we received it but as it was late inn the evening, it was acceptable. Staff very helpful on the desks when picking up and dropping off car!

This firm will charge for unsubstantiated damage done to there car, and even if you have taken photos of the car when you rent it, which I did, they still take whatever they like from your credit card, after months of trying to get my money back, unsucessfully, it turns out there is no appeal procedure, renter beware.

Horrible, el rentacar más malo que he contratado. Nos hicieron pagar por un vehículo y luego no nos dejaron cogerlo, aparte de que no nos devolvieron el dinero. No os lo recomiendo, es una estafa. Delante hay uno que se llama "centauro" que está muy bien y es mucho, mucho, mucho mejor que goldcar.

No recomendaría esta compañía ni a mi peor enemigo. He contratado 3 veces y me he sentido siempre engañada y estafada. Cuando no contratas el seguro con ellos buscan la trampa y te entregan un coche con PARTE de golpes MANIPULADO para que cuando devuelves el coche tengas la sorpresa. Bonita forma de ganar 300€ adicionales, sin hacer nada. Ganar dinero con clientes descontentos es muy pésima estrategia. Esta compañía es un claro ejemplo de qué no debes hacer si quieres éxito en tu negocio. Suerte y hasta nunca!

Good car hire until you get home two days later they taken 238 pound and another 48 out of my account and the car went back in same good condition as I collected so would not be using them next year

We hebben in juni een auto gehuurd voor 17dagen
Op de luchthaven was de desk volledig bezet waardoor de wachttijd ondanks de drukte best meeviel. Na registratie van de nodige papieren hebben we onze wagen gekregen. De wagen was nagenoeg nieuw en in zeer goede staat.
Uit respect voor de goede wagen heb ik het voertuig de dag voor teruggave helemaal gereinigd.
Aan de terugkomst balie was de service zeer goed en vriendelijk. Samen de wagen gecheckt en OK.
Drie dagen later was ook de geblokkeerde waarborg vereffend.
Een aanrader wij komen terug.

We rented a car in June for 17 days
At the airport the desk was fully occupied so that the waiting time was not that bad, despite the crowds. After registration of the necessary papers, we received our car. The car was almost new and in very good condition.
Out of respect for the good car, I completely cleaned the vehicle the day before the return.
At the return desk the service was very good and friendly. Checked the car together and OK.
Three days later, the blocked guarantee was also settled.
A must, we come back.
