Dont use these guys, extra charges and then more extra charge. Pay the extra few pounds for a good company.

CAPTION: Don’t book with them – you will end up paying much more!

When we were booking the car in mid-September, we had very little time left and booked with Record Go because their prices were much lower. We did not heed to all those reviews saying that this agency employs shady practices (like charge people for scratches to the underside of their front bumper). Now I want to post this review so that other people can learn from our experience.

My impression is that the primary goal of Record Go is to make their customers pay as much money in addition to their booking as possible. And their people do everything in their power to achieve that.

We booked through an online aggregator (Discover Cars) and our package included certain insurance items, including CDW and theft insurance with a deductible. When we came to Record Go at Seville airport, their employee informed us that we had no insurance at all and therefore were well advised to buy the full insurance package from them – or we “would be liable for any damage that happens to the car”. When I tried to object saying that we did have certain insurance included, the guy simply ignored my comments and repeated what he said before (his English also left a lot to be desired, so we could not understand him well in some cases). This strange situation, coupled with reports of these guys charging people for things like scratches to the underside of their bumpers, compelled my wife and myself to pay EUR 200 for the full insurance package. This is something we would typically never do, but we just did not trust Record Go and had to pay that additional amount.

Then the guy told us that since we were going to travel to Portugal (while renting in Spain), we would have to pay EUR 9 for each day of our rental. I mentioned that this was not included in the terms & conditions issued to us at booking (which I had with me) – but the guy told us he did not care about those terms & conditions because… they had their own terms & conditions at Record Go Seville airport. Hilarious situation, and you have no options but to pay – or be left with no car at the start of your vacation.

My special indignation goes to the Record Go employee at Sevilla airport named Diego. His behavior resembles that of a crook and borders on outright extortion. If Record Go managers ever bother to read these reviews – I certainly hope they consider carefully whether they want to keep such employees.

When I arrived to surrender my car at the end of our trip, the return of the car went well for two reasons – 1. We had already purchased full insurance (so there was nothing more for Record Go to charge us for) and 2. Diego was not the employee who handled our car return. But I did observe an interesting situation when another group of customers arrived to return their car – and Diego went to handle that return. Well, and what do you know? ! Within 1 minute the guy was squatting and inspecting the underside of the front bumper, saying that he saw scratches there! The clients were shocked and tried to explain to Diego that they were not to blame for those scratches, but Diego was having none of it. They were still arguing when I left. I attach a picture of this outrageous situation.

Takeaway – if you do not want to become the next customer paying for scratches on the underside of the front bumpers, do not deal with Record Go:)

La peor atencion del personal que he tenido en coche de alquiler en toda europa.servivio de menorca

Ademas 15 dias despues no me han devuelto retencion por gasolina, dejandoles el deposito lleno.

Horrible experience. Never going to rent with this company ever again! There are some many hidden charges and the company won't tell you what the payment is for. We returned the car with no damage and we bought an insurance. A few days later I got charged a fee without knowing why. The company just charge my card with no reason. Plus, on the first day the company gave us the electric car with a damaged cable which we couldn't use. We wasted many hours waiting for the tow truck cause our car was about to be out of battery and we had to pay for the tow truck fee because we didn't buy insurance! The company is just a scam

Worst company I have ever encountered with. We rent an electric car and they gave us a cable that couldn't work. We tried two charging stations and still couldn't charge the car and had no choice but to call their road assistance for help. He told us that he will send a truck to take the car away and will also they will pay for a taxi to bring us back to Palma airport and give us another car. In the end, we were charged €158 for the truck without any notice in advance and the company didn't pay for our taxi either.
Don't rent car from this company!

Good first experience with this company. I rented a car in ibiza for one week. Everything went smoothly, got my fuel immediately and cash deposit back after couple of days.

Worry free car rental! Just take the package with their insurance. You arrive and have the keys in 5 minutes! Good English speaking staff! Would recommend!

Pessimo servizio, scortesi e scorretti. Non consigliato.
Auto prenotata in anticipo via Rentalcars.com con assicurazione completa dei danno senza franchigia e nessuna cauzione.
Abbiamo richiesto una conferma prima dell'arrivo via telefono a RecordGo per verificare se non ci sarebbero stata chiesta la cauzione e così ci hanno detto.
Arrivati ad Ibiza, al ritiro auto ci è invece stata richiesta la cauzione di 1100 Euro senza spiegazioni. Dopo il rifiuto a pagare e nonostante avessimo mostrato all'addetto il nostro contratto di noleggio, l'unica soluzione per poter prelevare l'auto è stata la sottoscrizione di una poliza assicurativa Kasko (170€) della compagnia RecordGo oltre alla cauzione di altri 58€ come garanzia per la restituzione dell'auto (una Panda) con il pieno di benzina.

L'assicurazione non era necessaria secondo il nostro contratto e non doveva essere richiesta, così come la cauzione. Un'azione scorretta dell'addetto quella di farci pagare un servizio non richiesto oltre che non necessario.

Solo dopo numerose mail e contatti con Rentalcars.com e diverse mail di protesta e richiesta rimborso per pratica scorretta con il supporto RecordGo abbiamo ottenuto un rimborso (per ora promesso ma non ancora effettuato).

Se proprio volete usufruire comunque di RecordGo, vi consiglio di fare attenzione alle condizioni sottoscritte in fase di acquisto.

I cannot praise RecordGo enough during lockdown they have extended our contracts on several occasions until we were able to travel to exchange cars
