Axel Hotel Barcelona

Yo mi fue al hotel pues mi pareja ya había llegado y así que llegué, hice el check in y esa “recepcionista” digamos así; aun no había llegado! Cuando regreso al hotel, estabs esa persona en la recepción.abrí la puerta con mi tarjeta y él ya con toda ignorancia posible, me lo preguntas: “Tienes la tarjeta de aquí? Yo: - si, claro! Y como lo creres que abri la puerta? (Como ya eran un poco más de las 22h, y estábamos en estado de alarma, las puertas del hotel se cerraban a las 22h! Y él continuando con su ignorancia mi pide la tarjeta para ver se era verdadera. Santa ignorancia! Y además, me pregunta se había hecho el checking y lo dije que si! Y él continuando con su pésimo trato, pues aquí no veo su nombre no! Entonces me pregunto con quien estaba y número de hab. Le dije! Entonces fue ahí que mi ha devuelto mi tarjeta del hotel y mi fue a la habitación! Extrañando todo ese comportamiento de él, comenté a mi pareja y fue de ahí que mi psreja lo llamó y en la recepción afirmándole de que yo tenía hecho el checking etc.y lo recepcionista, le dije que era medida de seguridad y de que estaba todo ok!
Otro día mi pareja regresa aquí. Pasamos la noche juntas y fue a la casa buscar mi perrita para conocerle, y ya como habíamos oído perros ladraren en la hab case que al lado de la nuestra, pensé que no había problemas! Y por la mañana cuando llegó al hotel, estaba ese “tal cujo” en la recepción y con toda la ignorancia y odio de mi, me lo dije de que no podía entrar con perros! Le dije que había perros en el hotel, pq habíamos escuchado! Y además, tengo amigos que ya se llevaron sus perros al hotel y nunca han pasado algún tipo de problema! Y que el mío es una chihuahua súper tranquila! Resumiendo: mi pareja ha tenido que bajar, pues no mi dejaron entrar.
No lo sé como una cadena de hoteles como el Axel hotel, se puede trabajar personas totalmente discapacitadas como ese “tal”!

Sadly my room was dirty! Sheets and bathroom full of spots and Hair from other guests - kinda ruined my new year! Stuff wasn’t friendly and treat me like they don’t care. Not heterofriendly m. Breakfast was limited (guess cause of corona) bit charging 16 euros I recommend not to take breakfast and have it in one of the nice places in the area. Barcelona has a lot of good hotels so i will choose another one next time. What a dissapointment.

Servizio inefficiente, manca lo spazzolone del water condizione pessima igienicamente, se chiami la reception per un problema ti aiutano dopo mezz'ora. Non c'è il servizio bar per l'intero e nella spa alcuni idromassaggi non funzionano e nel bagno turco dove esce il vapore si rischia di bruciarsi!

Le cose belle é che la camera era moderna in stanza non mancava lo spazio bella doccia bel letto c'è il set spazzolino e c'è il bar in terrazza solo la sera all'aperto ed è centralissimo!

We stayed 4 nights at an Axel City Room. Excellent reception service. Friendly staff. Very good and caring housekeeping service, every day. Excellent breakfast. The room was really small, unpractical, noisy. You will hear all your neighbors, even flushing their toilets or even their TV. Smelly, heavy kitchen smell from the courtyard, even through closed windows. Good place for having fun but not for having a proper sleep. We did not try their sauna or swimming pool. Generally we would recommend to our friends, but hoping to get some of their unpleasant room characteristics improved soon.

Davvero un bell'hotel 4 stelle, prezzo giusto, curato nei particolari, moderno, pulito, personale gentilissimo. Check-in anticipato di due ore. Ho ricevuto anche un upgrade gratuito alla camera premium, molto bella. Mi hanno accontentato in tutte le mie richieste. Ho ricevuto anche qualche extra per il mio anniversario. Drink omaggio, bottiglie di acqua in omaggio. Bella la Spa anche se l'acqua della vasca idromassaggio un po' freddina. Colazione internazionale ok, ma non proprio il massimo per gli italiani (poca scelta di prodotti dolci). Prodotti gluten free per chi mi accompagnava richiesti in anticipo per email, ma trovato solo il pane. Comunque ottima esperienza, lo consiglio vivamente, in centro, ben collegato con tutti i posti da visitare. È presente anche una terrazza con bar sul tetto molto carina. Se torno a Barcellona ci ritorno. GRAZIE PER LA VOSTRA OSPITALITÀ.

Am staying here at the moment, exceptional place, spa and gym are superb, the staff are the most helpful I have ever encountered in all my travels, our room is with a street view is top class, modern, clean and extremely comfortable, location is fantastic, can't fault this phenomenonal hotel, we will be back
, ps just have to add it was my wife's birthday while we stayed here, she received a lovely letter and drinks voucher from the management, also Vlad at the reception was extremely helpful, overall would highly recommend this hotel, a wonderful experience

I stayed in this hotel for four nights in August, below, several points that I disliked about this hotel:

1- Price: DONT BOOK EARLY, the discount thing is BS
They offer several discounts depending on how early you book: 18%, 15%, etc. I booked very early and had an 18% discount. Yet I found out a few months after booking that they were selling rooms at a 15% but at a way cheaper price than what I paid (about 30% cheaper). I emailed them, and they did not care about it.

2- Before check-in I emailed them to know if there was a free sauna/steam bath in the pool area. This was confirmed in writing by the front desk. It was false, the only sauna and steam baths are in the spa area, which is 10€/day.

3- Before checking in, I emailed them to inform them that my boyfriend would arrive early (before 3pm) and asked them if he could drop his suitcases at the front desk and use the gym until he could check in. They confirmed that he could use the gym before check-in. When he arrived, the front desk kept their words, but the coach of the gym (the man with long hair) refused him access to the gym (despite the fact that he had authorization from the front desk).

4- Before our last night, we saw a sign about free massages at the desk of the gym. My boyfriend ask the guy in charge of the massage, who replied that he had no availabilities that day. The thing is, I was waiting on the couch in the gym lobby for the past 30min while my boyfriend was at the gym, and I heard the massage guy say to someone that he was fully available for massages for the rest of the day. He blatantly lied to my boyfriend, until now I still don't know the reason (greed? Racism?).

5- The bedroom have nice layouts but the furnitures are very tacky. I liked the separation between the bathroom and the bedroom, and the fact that there were a few stairs to go down to the bed area. But the fabric they used around the mirrors, of the cheap wood furnitures are not up to 4 stars hotels standards. I loved the idea of a gay hotel, but I will stick to straight hotels in the future because this place is not 4 stars quality.

6- I emailed them before check-in to have a quiet room, they allocated me to a floor on the street side (second floor), there was a constant noise of car driving by, buses, sirens. Impossible to get a decent sleep in there. They obviously don't care about guests emails. I complained about that but was never changed room.

7- In general, all my queries emailed to the front desk were ignored. Customer service is terrible.

Hello,
I'm afraid you have a problem with the email again. Claimed that Mail came to the garbage box is a dishonorable and disrespectful claim. Every company is worthy, checking this box once a day.

It is interesting that two months ago it was claimed that my email had arrived in the garbage box, while the invitation that was offered after the first visit was answered immediately, refuting your claim that my emails arrived in the garbage box.

Great location, lovely room and facilities, friendly staff. Enjoyed the rooftop sun deck and plunge pool! Great double glass shower stall.

Buenos días mi nombre es Fátima Gual Fernández he estado durante una semana en el hotel Axel de luna de miel viaje que nos pagaron nuestros invitados y mi sorpresa es el trato humano que recibimos desde los recepcionistas tanto Víctor como Naiara que son los que más tratamos en el buffet de cafetería en el desayuno con Sergi muy amable tanto él como sus compañeros una vez que conocen al cliente saben lo que quieren desayunar y que ni decir tiene las empleadas de limpieza Maru la jefa del personal de limpieza una persona muy humana pero las empleadas de limpieza de la cuarta planta que a mí me tocaron yo no puedo decir nada de ellas nada malo todo lo contrario todo bueno limpieza correcta trato correcto personas muy amables muy educadas que separan a escucharte entenderte ayudarte en lo que necesites la limpieza puedes comer en el suelo de lo limpio que está y ordenado se preocupan mucho por el cliente y son empleadas algo que los jefes deberían de valorar tanto el trabajo de ellas como el de la supervisora los jefes deberían de valorar eso porque ellos están mirando por el negocio me alegro por el personal todo en general pero sobre todo el personal de limpieza y su supervisora felicidades recomiendo el hotel a todo el que quiera venir y felicidades a todo el personal del hotel seguir así no cambiéis besos de una gallega

It was a nice place. Very comfortable bed. Definitely not a child friendly place, there are risque pictures all over the place. We decided not to go in the pool as it was smaller than the pictures looked. Also, there were so many people sitting around the poolside that it felt particularly cramped.

Excesivamente cara las copas, frecuento muchas terrazas con amigos en diferentes hoteles y la última vez que fuimos a este notamos los precios más inflados de lo normal, las copas estaban sucias, pedimos una champán y no estaba fría. En fin

Exceptionally great staff. The wellness center isn't worth visiting, but the rooftop bar and the hotel itself are fantastic!

L’Axel Hôtel de Barcelone est très bien situé, en plein milieu du quartier gay, l’Example.
C’est un hôtel 4 étoiles, avec tous les services qu’on peut souhaiter: Terrasse avec une petite piscine et un solarium, un bar sympa pour boire un verre le soir, un Spa pour se détendre et un restaurant pour le petit déjeuner, avec un énorme buffet!
Seul petit défaut, il n’y a pas beaucoup de rangements pour ranger ses vêtements dans la chambre.
La literie est très confortable!
Je recommande cet hôtel pour un long week-end à Barcelone!

A pesar de ser un Hotel para ambiente gay, debo decir que allí se alojaban todo tipo de personas, empresarios, familias, parejas. Una decoración muy cuidada, amplia habitación y baño. Buen buffet de desayuno muy variado sobre una mesa central espectacular que le daba un toque muy llamativo al lugar. Se encuentra muy cerca de las Ramblas lo que se agradece tenerla a pie para salir a pasear sin usar medios de transporte. También quiero recalcar que se encuentra en una calle donde hay muy buenos restaurantes que me sorprendieron muy gratamente a los que pienso volver.

Les conditions de réception sont décevantes stationnement bloqué, attente malgré pré renseignement, oubli du panier picnic.
Chambre spacieuse et agréable ; un ensemble un peu vieillissant. Pediluve en rooftop, et service approximatif avec les jeunes recrues ; mignon

Hotel con terraza con vistas a Eixample para tomar una copa y relajarse. Evitar ir en verano, julio y agosto porque se llana demasiado.o intentar ir tempranito

Location is very good and stuff very helpful. But you must book from their website to get the best offers. Gym is very good for an hotel gym, and rooftop is cool but drink a little bit expensive.
